Life_Sucks 0 Share Posted September 13, 2005 Juhi, I got that last week and applied it twice uptil now on my face for mild scars. Nothing happened yet.I don't know if this is strong enough but I will keep on using it for couple of months I guess. How many times do you use it per week? How long you keep it on before rinsing? How long you massage before rinsing (as per instructions).Just want to make sure I am doing it correctly cause it seems to work for you. Derek7.2 0 Share Posted September 14, 2005 I try to remember that this site is constantly changing so I want to repeat whatI posted before, many moons ago, when my wife researched who I should seeto remove ~6 fairly deep scars on my left cheek. I saw ~5 big name dermsin NYC --- and they were all real good, but I choose Dr Marsha Gordon atMt Sinai's derm dept. (funny, I also saw Dr Melanie Grossman who is a majorlaser researcher w/ 3 patents, and she said, Derek, NO F'N WAY will lasers helpyou. This was pre-fraxel.) ... anyways, here was Marsha's plan: #1, use a mildcleanser like Neutragena's Liquid Cleanser. Keep Cetaphil handy if your skingets too red/sensative/flaky/or you just want something milder. #2, Use one of 2 Moisturizers EVERY DAY + Sun Block by Clinque. #3, NOW HERE's why I hadto do steps 1 & 2 etc .... Use AVAGE cream every night. Or, Every other nightat first or if you get too red. Now, I don't know if this would work for YOU, butit worked for me over ~8 months. I PEELED & PEELED .... Also, I even askedMarsha if Dermabrasion (or spot Dermabrasion) would work & she said, "ummm,Maybe, but why risk it. The Avage will steadily even out your scars. Just forthe record, I am VERY WHITE FACED with zero acne or acne marks or any marksexcept those 6 scars ---- i'd say now, 2 years later, you can easily see 1 scar, and faintly 2 others, and that's it. ***** Final PS: There is also a well knownPS in NYC , Dr Cap Lesesne (212-570-6318) ... Look up his web site becausethere he uses Dermabrasion, but in a very superficial way. Marsha knew himvery well but still said the Avage cream would be much better. Good luck guys. juhi 0 Author Share Posted September 14, 2005 hey life...i am leaving out the sucks part..lets see.....i used the scar peel atleast twice a week...i'd leave it for 30 minutes or so.....i know it says 10 minutes....but thats not good enough to fade scars.just massage while rinsing.....be patient....as with any treatment...this ones takes time....if u have any redness...thats tends to go first...cheers

Colonel Angus 0 Share Posted September 14, 2005 (edited) This is only suppose to be available by prescription but I think this website will ship it to you without it. Seems quite pricy though. What's funny is the description seems to be contradictory and clearly said it will not work for everyone. http://www.1stop-pharmacy.com/Avage_cream.aspHere's a link about user ratings from acne.org but it appears most people are using it to get rid of acne and not scars. http://www.acne.org/rate_item.php?item_id=64Colin Edited September 14, 2005 by IDBNVS2

Scarhelp 0 Share Posted September 26, 2005 We are talking about scar peel one, not the red mark one. Neutrogena has 2 different products.
