I just started Ortho Tri-Cylen Lo today to help my acne. I have a few questions..

1. Did it help? or make it worse?

2. How long did it take (if it helped)

3. What kind of acne did you have?

4. What were your periods like before taking this? (irregular ) for example.

thanks

For some, this clears them or aids in clearing acne.

For me, I was on the generic and it helped me clear up a little. But the generic, oddly enough, was 30 bucks more expensive, so I switched to Ortho... and it actually made it WORST.

Depends on the individual

It made my acne worse than it was b4. I don't know if it was a case of bringing out all the bad before seeing the good but I didn't stay on it long enough to find out. I don't even think I lasted a whole month. The breakout was intense!!

I just finished my 3rd month of Ortho Tri Lo. It made me a little depressed and bloated the 2 months and I had irregular bleeding. Now I'm fine. It didn't make my skin worse. My dr said it takes at least 3 months to help though. My skin is clear now but I'm also taking Septra and using Tazorac. I got on the BC because I thought I may need Accutane so I wanted to already be on BC so I wouldn't have to wait longer. I hope it works for you.

1. Did it help? or make it worse?

It will worsen as your hormones change, but after a few weeks or a month your skin will begin to clear up.

2. How long did it take (if it helped)

I have taken it on anf off for 3 years (It's best for your body and scne to stay with it.)

3. What kind of acne did you have?

I have severe cystic acne

4. What were your periods like before taking this? (irregular ) for example.

Taking birth control will make your periods more regular.

*Ortho will only clear light acne- I would reccommend using another acne treatment in combination with Ortho.
