My Life In Red 0 Share Posted September 4, 2005 Just thought I'd say that I recieved my Puritan's Pride Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil today and it's great. It's currently room temperature and so it has a slight coconut scent and flavor. The great thing is that the oil isn't a heavy oil, it's light-medium in consistency and doesn't have much flavor at all. So it wasn't hard to get it down. I was actually a bit disappointed at how quick it was, LOL. So far, coconut oil is the best "medicine" I've ever had. ;-)Take careP.S. Don't know if Puritan's Pride sells to the UK, but currently they are having a 3 for 1 sale so I got 3 - 16oz jars for $16.00!http://www.puritan.com←
kaybee 1 Share Posted September 7, 2005 Just felt like mentioning that take 2-3 teaspoons of raw coconut oil everyday really helps a lot. In fact, it's one of the most beneficial things you can do IMO.
happygilmore 0 Share Posted September 8, 2005 HiJust thought I would share my two cents. I went to a Kinesiologist (Naturopath) on Monday to get tested for Candida and other various imbalances in my body. He found I definitely have Candida and has given me Selenium Solution which will remove the Candida from my system. I told him about Coconut Oil and also Threelac but he had never heard of them and only knew of Selenium for treating Candida.Anyway I have been taking it for 3 days now and I think it is working, my acne has reduced down to just a few smallish spots.HappyPS. I first saw this guy three weeks ago when he also found problems in my Liver, Brain Function, Galbladder & Pancreas for which I have been taking other supplements to help for 3 weeks. Trinity45 0 Share Posted September 8, 2005 I don't see how you can see results that fast. If anything it should get worst before it gets better because of the die-off when you kill candida.

MyShrimpDied 0 Share Posted September 8, 2005 I dont have any coconut oil but I do have some omega 3-6-9 capsules. If I took several of these a day would it have the same effect as taking a lot of coconut oil?

Trinity45 0 Share Posted September 11, 2005 Are we supposed to cycle coconut oil on and off if were using it to treat candida? I heard that's the correct method when taking anti-fungals, such as CO.

Jimmy 0 Share Posted September 13, 2005 i had to stop eating fruit completely and am doing better than ever. today i ate some sprouted buckwheat, and was in bed feeling like i had the flu all day with a coated tongue. dont know if it was an allergic reaction or candida related. i also see improvement with coconut oil. but unfortunately, i think oats cause me problems as well so i've been avoiding them too sadly. let us know how you do with and without the oats!for coconut oil, nutiva is a good brand. so is naturalzing, wilderness family naturals, and maybe tropical traditions. i think it tastes great.←

Geneva 0 Share Posted September 17, 2005 Hey !Has anyone gotten completely clear from taking coconut oil ? And how long did it take for you to see a real improvement ? I just started taking it a couple days ago and am hoping it will help. I'm also convinced that my acne is related to candida (I get pretty much clear if I cut out all refined carbs, sugar and yeast containing products....but I'm not good at keeping a strict diet). My acne is mild but persistent...and I would like to be able to stop using topicals (currently using skinoren). My Life In Red 0 Share Posted September 21, 2005 I've upped my intake of coconut oil to 3 tablespoons a day for the past eight days. It is easy to get down when mixed into various foods and shakes. I am not sure this is a long term solution, however right now I am not breaking out in new zits. This is a miracle because I just stopped taking BCPs three weeks ago and my face should be exploding in a gang of new cysts right about now, which it is not. I am also taking a slew of other supplements and keeping a clean diet which I am sure is contributing.
life_is_sweet 1 Share Posted September 22, 2005 I cannot keep my coconut oil in liquid form! It's so annoying to have to put it in hot water every day a few hours before I want to use it. Any ideas?

Geneva 0 Share Posted September 23, 2005 Update on my progress. I've been taking coconut oil regularly for a week now and so far I'm quite happy with it. At the moment, I'm still getting some new pimples...but I'm really impressed at how fast my blemishes heal without leaving any red mark (within 2 to 3 days) which is really new for me I'm hoping to be completely clear pretty soon....that would be awsome considering I've had acne for the past 14 years !!!! They both do the job. That's product looks ok, but you can easily find it at a local health food store.
Jeniveve 0 Share Posted November 9, 2005 Most oils should never be heated. They become toxic when they are. So with that in mind, look for coconut oil that is cold pressed! Do a little research. And don't heat it up if you can avoid it. Oils that have been heated, like vegetable oil, sesame, even extra virgin olive oil, will become very harmful to you as an acne sufferer. So keep those oils in mild quantities. And consume lots of heat free coconut oil. I put 2-3 tablespoons in a fruit shake in the morning. That way I can get it down. lol.
