im just going to vent and ask some questions... for me acne ruined my life, yeah i know I make it ruin my life but it is a fact, since i was at highschool i got some pimples the first year, but it was tolerable, then i was clear half the second year, i met this woman who treated me like shit and all that and i went in a deep depression and i got a severe flare up of acne, then i got accutane and the second year at highschool was hell, my grades lowered a lot, and on the third year i was still depressed and all that and my grades were really low, but i managed not to fail, now my family faces economical problems and i wanted a scholarship and i cant due to my grades, i got A grades on math and physics but sucked at philosophy and that shit and now i cant complete my studies where i want to be, fucking acne, fucking scars, made me introverted and not wanting to go out with my friends, scars here, there, erverywhere on my mind and clouded my thoughs, now i cant even complete my studies and all that. i hate life

today i have some pimples, something tolerable, but ive got scars and that is what bothers me

im trying the vinegar thing and apparently it is helping, those scars that i saw from a distance in the mirror are apparently smoother, but i realized on a really close inspection that ive got many many tiny and really shallow, superficial, not deep, however you call it, many picks, like open pores or something, i dont know if theyre scars or open pores, but theyre really superficial, WHAT KIND OF TREATMENT IS BEST for this type of thing??? maybe some peel?

and the other scars, the others i have which are noticeable from certain distance or certain angle of lighting, well, since i cant do the YAG laser because money is a problem, im going to try that skin needling with the tattoo gun at a tattoo shop or however theyre called. and keep on with the vinegar

damn condition, i want to die, i dont know what i say, im just really sad today, now i hate everything. i just want to have a considerable improvement and then i could conquer the world or something like that... damn damn damn situation :-

Im in a similar situation dude. I don't know what to do 8-[ All I can hope for is that one day I will have skin that I am confident in. Everywhere I go I usually wear a hood. It's annoying because I get sterotyped as a "punk" or "thug". I'm only trying to hide my face from light highlighting every imperfection on my face.

The worst part is the fact that 95% of people I see have better skin then me. Many people I have seen do have some pimples but the rest of their skin is perfect. No open pores no oil....flawless.

I would give up everything I own for good skin, I had no idea my life would turn out this way-- no confidence and in social withdrawl :-

=; =; =; Whoa, dude! Just look at Tommy Lee Jones - a very sought-after and highly paid actor, with a face like 20 miles of bad road. Your face isn't your whole life, keep that in mind.

:-:):D

I like Tommy especially when he played the IRA bomber in Blown Away.

He came over here promoting Men in Black 2. Will Smith is a pure extrovert but Tommy just looked real withdrawn and reluctant and uncomfortable in the media spotlight. I also remember when he was up for the Oscar for The Fugitive(I think) and Christian Slater was outside promoting him or crawling up to him and again Tommy looked really uncomfortable.

Regardless whether he is famous or not i reckon his scarring affects him in some way.

You're not alone, and that's one thing that continues to keep my spirits up. I'm 23 and have been dealing with it for several years! Actually got worse after highschool. I would otherwise be very attractive, but as time goes on, more and more damage makes me feel uglier and sader, and even older than I should be. Now I'm at the point I don't like myself at all. People that tell you that you let it get to you too much are the most annoying people on the face of the earth. I had someone tell me today that the best thing for clearing it up is just washing it... OH YEAH!!! WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT? ... this person doesn't have a single blemish and obviously has no idea what they are talking about, but that's what the general public thinks, which makes me feel all the more freakish and filthy! If only they knew the daily routine I have to go through every day just to get out the door. :0( I'm going Monday to have my first appointment with a specialist who is going to treat me hopefully once and for all with ongoing procedures. This is probably going to include chemical peels, laser, etc...? Who knows, I have never had any of that before, but have gone through every other thing that 4 dermatologists have offered including three cycles of Accutane. Wish me luck!

Youknowyoureright, I do know exactly what your going through. I suffered with acne for too many years, had a brief period post Accutane and post my second dermabrasion where I felt like I looked semi normal, now I dealing with scars that seem to be getting worse every year that I age.

I wish I could help you with a solution to the scars but after sending over $10,000 on scar removal treatments I can honestly say nothing that I have tried has worked long term. I have vowed not to spend any more money unless I am positive it will produce at least a 60% improvement. I am working on self acceptance but its really hard to accept something that never should have happened.

As far as your education is concerned, can you go to a community college and take college courses in the subjects you did not do well in in high school. Work hard and demonstrate that you can make the grade. If you work part time and take just one or two courses at a time it won't be too expensive. Then apply to a 4 year college and finish your degree. People like you with skills in physics and math are in demand.

If this won't work for you, consider taking courses towards a trade like plumbing or electronics. Those guys make really good money. Put your energies into your career for awhile until you have renewed your confidence. Then work on your social life. You can't fix every thing at once. Just focus on one thing at time starting with those things you can control. If you have a chance check out the video called "Rudy" for inspiration on how persistance pays off.
