I can NOT wait for my Glycolic Acid peel to get here.

I could not find a 30% solution anywhere in town.

10% tops.

However I realize that a 30% solution is needed in order to inspire a peeling.

On a further note......I purchased "Neutrogena" Blackhead Eliminating astringent

Salycic Acid formula.

WTF!!!!!

I have been living HOW MANY YEARS with black heads!!!

The BP itself has prevented any new large Zits from forming, until just recently (thus my revisiting to the site) but never really got rid of my blackheads and those smaller inactive bumps that just sort of sat there.

Not getting any worse, but not in a hurry to go anywhere either. Just hanging around like In-Laws.

And now, just this simple application before my evening of BP application and they are 90% gone! And this has only been two applications!

I'm talking about the morning after!

No kidding!! WTF?

If your not using a Salycic Acid application before at least one of your BP applications...your missing out.....Big Time.

And consider yourself very lucky if your some one who can tolerate it.

It just makes sense that the SA absolutely prepares your skin to be optimaly primed and allow the full effectiveness of BP to go to work.

WOW.

It is an awesome feeling.

To look at your skin and see something you admire.

I had a serious double take this morning.

This combined with my new ramped up routine that I have stratgically formulated after an intense 16 hours on this site yesterday.

Combined with the Demming products (Glycolic peels and Intense Gel)

.....I cant even imagine how this transformation will have an effect on my overall persoanl well being, I mean, actually having skin that I am happy and proud of.

No, I dont base my own sense of character on outward appearances...FAR FROM IT! Its all about WHO you are.

But this is just going to be icing on the cake.....with candles...and party hats.....etc. biggrin.gif

Key words that I have come to REALLY understand while on this forum are

-Customize

-Individualize

-Re-assess

-Gauge

-Calibrate

-Rinse, Lather,..Repeat!

I see so many people get locked into a specific routine, specifically with the timing and number of applications in a given time.

See list of concepts above. Its called "discretion".

After spending at least a good 16 hours on this site I have come up with what I believe is going to be an awesome strategy for me.

Taking in all of the good, and leaving out what seems to be bad.

This site is a gold mine of information.

THE GOAL- Awesome skin care for under $50.00 a month

These are the products I plan to be using after taking in the wealth of info on this forum, taking into consideration my own skin type ( Light to moderate acne" always blackheads*nose espeacialy*, and what seems to be at least always 1-3 active pimples somewhere, and 2-3 redmarks (hyperpigmentationsomethingorother) that have been on my face for 6 months to over a year.)availability, price, and most of all, the general feedback from actual users of these products and the information on each of these products.

In no particular order-

C+C blackhead scrub (with 2% Salycic Acid)

Cetaphil cleanser + Moisturizer

Dans BP

Salycic Acid

Pure Demmings Intense gel

Glycolic Acid peel 30% -Once a week

Vitamin B-5 1.5-3 grams per day (Perhaps Eventually)

Tanning once, maybe eventually,2 times per week. (Thursdays, then Mondays)

Moisturizer with SPF 15

Now because I'm not made of money, I am going to try and spread these products out as much as possible in an effective and strategic way to get the most out of these products while in synergy with the other products, and my own reactions, sensitivity and adaptability to each individual product.

NOW!.......

At this point, initially and ideally, I believe it will take on something near this structure...

Sunday AM-

-Ceta Cleanser

-BP

-Ceta Moisturizer

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-30% Glycolic Acid Peel

MONDAY AM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA to blackhead areas only

-Moisturize

Not much will be needed after the acid peel from the night before leaving very new skin very vulnerable at this point....being very gentle.

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-Pure Demmings Gel

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-Dans BP

-Moisturize

TUESDAY AM

-Ceta Clenaser

-BP

-Moisturize

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA to blackhead areas only

-Dans BP

-Moisturizer

WEDNSDAY AM

-C+C SA% scrub

-BP

-Moisturizer

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-Pure Demmings IG

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA (said areas)

-Dans BP

-Moisturizer

THURSDAY AM

-Ceta cleanser

-BP

-Moisturize

PM

-SPF 15 Moisturizer

-Tan

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA (you know)

-Dans BP

-Moisturize

FRIDAY AM

-Cetaphil cleanser

-SA (yep)

-Moisturizer

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-Demmings IG

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-Moisturize

Go out if thats the plan.

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA(yawn)

-Dans BP

-Moisturize

SATURDAY AM

-Ceta Cleanser

-BP

-Moisturize

PM

-Cetaphil Cleanser

-SA

-Dans BP

-Moisturize

Repeat........Awesome.

Obviously this may all change on a day to day basis depending on my results.

Nothings in stone people.

I should have everything by this weekend.

Loving it!!!!!

Any logical feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Clint

Hello.... just a word of caution....

Glycolic acid peels increase your photosensitivity....it says this on any website you find where glycolic acid peels are being sold. They recommend an SPF of at least 15 but preferably 30 for a week following each peel. That being said....I don't think it's very wise to go tanning since it will be more easy for you to burn or get skin cancer.

Yah Confused, it works wonders for the blackheads on your nose.

In fact, this is the only place I am going to use the Neutragena SA astringent.

Overall, my skin is too sensitive to use this direct application.

However, I will be using C+C scrub with 2% SA in it.

This is a somewhat milder approach for the skin since it is only on for a minute or so and then washed off, where as the astringent you put onto a pad and apply directly and leave on till it drys, which is quite fast.

You can just feel your pores open up.

Quite refreshing actually, just too much for my entire face right now.

So I am only going to use it for my nose and the middle of my cheeks.

Yes Ifonly, I agree with you.

I am going to have to wait and see how I react to the first peel before I even consider tanning.

But I beleive that it is not the tanning that is so bad for you, its the burning.

So yes, I am going to have to be extra careful.

DAY 3

God dam I need a digital camera!

My face is really looking good.

Last night I used C+C 2%scrub then BP.

This morning I felt that my skin is still to sensitive to be applying SA every day.

Except only to those areas of my face which seem to have more of a resistance to irritation.

This includes my nose and the middle of my cheeks.

And what a coincidence, this is where those frickin blackheads like to hang out.

Coincidence??

So this is the only place I have applied the AS astringent.

Working AWESOME.

No irritation, and it is looking drastically better.

So this mornings regimine has been

-Cetaphil cleanser

-SA astringent to nose and middle of cheeks only

-BP.

And minimal Cetaphil moisturizer, and a little extra to my T- zone.

It has not been 6 hours since this application and my skin is resuming its healthy balance from the intial 3 SA astringent applications.

I beleive I could have gotten away with the first application with the SAa, but the 3rd one pushed my skin tolerance (mainly just my forehead and jawline) into the slightly irritated zone.

Anyways, Lovin it.

Just ordered a B5 supplement as well.

I have found 600 caps of 500mg for $29.72, shipping not included.(very reliable)

If any one knows a better source, (cost, reliability) please share.

Later

is c&c blackhead scrub making a difference to the blackheads? or am i gonna need SA aswell? oh and glad your skins looking good biggrin.gif

This really depends on your skins sensitivity.

My skin was begining to show signs or irritation from SA.

Mainly my forehead and down aroud the outside of my eyes,...that overly dry feeling, almost itchy.

So instead, I have decided to use the SA Neutrogena Blackhead astringent only to those parts of my face that were not easily irritated, and coincidentaly enough, this is where my blackheads tend to accumulate( my nose and middle of my cheeks)

So I have only been applying the SAa to those areas, then proceeding with the BP with awesome results.

Judging at this point, I beleive that the application of C+C SA scrub to my entire face may only be needed perhaps once a week.

But I may not even need that with the way this is working now.

I was having great results with the regimine, just couldn't seem to get rid of the blackheads,......now with the application of SA to just those areas......Awesome.

DAY 4

Something I have discovered is that there are SA cleansers out there with only a

.5% SA mix instead of the standard 2%.

Which I have discovered is much better for those of us with sensitive skin.

After the 3rd application of Neutrogenas Blackhead SA astringent, my face got a little upset and irritated. So I backed off of using the SAa all over my face and just applied to my less sensitive areas with the blackhead problems.

Which right now is working awesome.

If I decide to go back to using an SA all over my face then it will be a .5% solution.

As well, I am going to be using Neo and BP interchangably.

Perhaps every other day or every other week.

I'm going to continue to experiment.

Put on my first application of Neo this morning.

Went on much more smooth than I anticipated.

So far, ...no complaints.

Tonight I am going to use Bp.

P.S. Still waiting for my Glycolic Acid peels and Demmings Intense Gel!!!

If you consider that each product does diferent things and take this into account,

then yes.

Remember and take notice of the variables here.

How sensitive your skin is.

How far along your skin has adpted to the current regimine that you are on.

The strength of the SA.

For instance, personaly, the very first application I used of SA was from Neutrogenas Blackhead astringent.

I used it all over my face with great results.

I could really feel my skin open up.

However, after the third application in two days it turned out to be too much for my skin.

Now I just use the SA on the areas where I have blackheads.

Which coincidentally tend to be the tougher and less irritable areas of my face.

(Nose and middle of my cheeks)

If your current regimine is not working then I would suggest giving it a try in one form or another.

Going back, I would have gotten a facial wash with a lower SA content of .5%

I beleive using this every other night would have worked out nicely as well.

But what I'm doing now is working just fine so I am not going to change anything.

I would say give it a try if your not currently satisfied with your results.

Just pay very close attention to the results your getting.
