ROACCUTANE - THE BEST?

I was just thinking guys, Ive had it with acne. Roaccutance seems to be the strongest on the market. And alot of the stories are success stories, only a small percentage claim that accutance hasnt worked. i really just wanna go on it. fuck the side effects, come on, is anything worse than acne? no. I stumbled upon a website that sells accutane privately. Shall I just order some and start taking it. Im sick of this. Im so jealous when i hear these amazing testimonials from accutane. it seems like it actually works, so to board me onthe right traks can I have some negative stories about accutane!

sorry guys bad day

Whatever you do, do NOT under any circumstances order accutane privately. If you are going to go on it, do it under the supervision of a derm. The side effects are real, and they suck.

You put your body at a major risk without a derm as you wont get your blood tests done, which means that you could do serious damage to your liver.

Go through your derm. It's a very strong drug, and you wouldn't hurt anyone but yourself.

Hm, I once thought about this a great deal myself. And perhaps it is highly unethical of me to even impart my thoughts on the matter, lest they encourage someone to do something foolish. I am not a dermatologist, nor am I a con artist. I just like to think about these kinds of things. If the following is inappropriate then of course a mod is free to delete it:

Now I'm not condoning self-medicating here, but hypothetically...

It is perfectly possible, IF someone were truly determined and at least reasonably astute, to acquaint oneself with the reference ranges and acceptable fluctuation margins for cholesterol, triglyceride and LFT liver enzyme and blood protein levels, through such sites as http://www.labtestsonline.org/ or http://www.bloodbook.com/ranges.html. They would then go to a walk-in clinic, state they need a baseline blood test for Accutane in the form of cholesterol, triglyceride and LFT levels, and then return about a week later to simply pick up the results (because they do not know their derm's fax but can forward it in an envelope; if the walk-in clinic became suspicious, and they almost certainly would not bother, the individual could simply go to another walk-in clinic; there are easily a great number in any city).

If the baseline results fall within acceptable levels they would proceed with 0.5mg/kg to 1.5mg/kg dosage (aiming for a total cumulative course dosage of 125mg/kg for optimal remission of acne, over 4-7 months). They would undergo a second bloodtest at 2 weeks and then at monthly intervals for the remainder of the course. If the side-effects or blood test results warrant a degree of caution, dosage should be reduced until side-effects alleviate or blood test results return to acceptable levels, or if necessary dosage should be altogether suspended until side-effects or blood test resuls resume acceptable levels, at which point the course may be resumed.

The BIG catch here of course is that you cannot be particularly objective in monitoring yourself while you yourself are a patient on a drug, assuming you even have the necessary degree of competence to begin with. This is especially important because do not forget that you are taking Accutane out of despair for clear skin, and with all those emotions involved it is likely you would not be able to exert sufficient self-control to reduce or suspend dosage as appropriate in the event of abnormal blood test results or the appearance of side-effects.

Perhaps a better approach would be FIRST to memorize the above and perform it as a monologue to your dermatologist, concluding with the punchline-- "So you see if you do not give me Accutane I will easily have it on my doorstep in 1 week and will self-medicate in the manner I've described. At least with your supervision I would be safe. If you won't give me Accutane than I will walk out this door and do exactly what I have just told you, except then I will be put at significant risk. Your prerogative is the safety of the patient, so I think we both know what the best thing to do here is."

Anyhow, how mild is your acne anyway?

thanks guys.

i suppose. i know the right thing is to do it through a derm. god i hate acne.

well, if my current med doesnt work after 3 months, im def gonna beg for accutane cos i cant put up with this any longer. yeh my acne is mild to moderate, well i dont know actually, its bad enough trust me. i dont socialise because of it put it that way. my whole face isnt covered in spots so it isnt as bad as some, but my cheeks are scarred from popping whiteheads (the scars go inlike 3 months, but i keep getting new breakouts which start out with little bumps, so my cheeks are just all dark and look scarred and bumpy yuk). Around my nose i get these horrible spots, some whiteheads but the ones round the nose are always sensitive - i started getting these big ones, which just stick around for fuckin eva trust me, ive never had them before. and my chin ocassionally gets many papulses and they look a lil scarred. my cheeks and the area between my forehead and ears are probably the worse at the moment, never used to get spots there at all, its so weird why i started getting acne there! slowly I just kept getting major breakouts there. weird, sick, horrible ruined my life. sad.gif im putting my trust in differin lol and anti biotics ah well, these days keep flying bye, day after day sittin at the computer, bored, dont go out, my life is on shitty stand still . god someone help arrrrr

yeah, I'm in the same situation right now in that acne has grinded my life to a standstill. However I've finished my first month of AcCutane and I'm slowly watching my face heal.

My advice is that you just quit the treatments that you are doing now and just go on accutane.

I just went to my family doctor without saying anything about Accutane. The doctor actually bought it up. No blood test needed or anything, I was out with 30days worth of 10mg Accutane.

if u wanna get it privately go for it, i was going to but then my derm appointment suddenly came up, the truth of the matter is if u live in the uk derms r fucking useless bastards anyway, they dont help u at all, ive had one blood test but only before i started and i go back every month and they do fuck all, you shouldnt live your life doing what everyone else tells u is wrong, saying that u mite screw up n die or something, im no expert, do what u like, good luck either way mate but yeah roaccutane does work

Hey people I'm new to this forum. Good to see a place where people can talk about stuff like this. I don't know many people that have ance besides me. Yes Roaccutane does fuck you up but if your acne is bad enough it is definately worth it. My best advice is if it is not bad acne it's probably a better idea to try something else before you go the whole hog. There's not point fucking up your body with Roaccutane if you can get rid of acne with something that fucks it up a little less.

I was on Roaccutane for 9 months and it was the best thing I ever did. I turned pink and got really depressed but it was worth it. My skin was great for about 4 years and this year its starting to go shit again so I'm trying a combination of doxycycline and Retin A gel. It seems to be working so far. Wish me luck.

Once again thanks guys, everyones advice can help or give you hope, you know.

Really wish I could put some pictures up so I can get some better advice and that, but I dont think I m ready for that. cry.gif

Accutane does seem the daddy of all products doesnt it. ah well, maybe in the future, who knows. Maybe my acne isnt severe enough for it, it does p me off tho that I see people with very little acne and they go on accutane, some ppl act like its really the last resort, such a bad dangerous drug, then others are like hey yeh accutane im on that shit yeh lol

Just have to wait to see if the current med does its thing.

x bye ppl
