Gotta be Jimi Hendrix-Stone Free.

-------------------------

Everyday in the week I’m in a different city

If I stay too long people try to pull me down

They talk about me like a dog

Talkin’ about the clothes I wear

But they don’t realise they’re the ones who’s square

Yeah!

And that’s why

You can’t hold me down

I don’t want to be tied down I gotta move

Hey

I said

Stone free do what I please

Stone free to ride the breeze

Stone free, baby I can’t stay

I got to got to got to get away

Yeah

-----------------------

Ya good stuff.

When I get really really really pissed at my life I turn on Mystikal. But that's only when I'm in a white heat of anger... it kinda helps me, but I listen to all kinds of music and it generally improves my mood. The "raindrops" song is very nice, but probably the most emotional song I have ever heard is "End of the world" by Brenda Lee.

Incubus - New Skin

At first I see an open wound

infected and disastrous.

It breathes chaotic catastrophe,

It cries to be renewed.(Flaming over!)

It's tears are the color of anger,

they dry to form a scab.

To the touch, it's stiff and resilient,

underneath, the new skin breathes.

It's all been saved,

with the exception for the right parts.

When will we be new skin?

As outwardly cliche as it may seem,

Yess- something under the surface says, "C'est la vie."

It is a circle, there is a plan,

dead skin will atrophy itself and start again.

Look closely at that open wound,

see past what covers the surface.

Underneath chaotic catastrophe,

creation takes the stage.

Dead skin will atrophy itself and start again.(x3)

It's all been saved,

with the exception for the right parts.

When will we be new skin?

It's all been seen,

with the exception for what could be.

When will we be new skin?

[spoken]

UNTIL THE 20th CENTURY

REALITY WAS EVERYTHING

HUMANS COULD TOUCH,

SMELL, SEE, AND HEAR.

SINCE THE INITIAL

PUBLICATION OF THE

CHARTED ELECTROMAGNETIC

SPECTRUM, HUMANS HAVE

LEARNED THAT WHAT THEY

CAN TOUCH, SMELL, SEE, AND

HEAR IS LESS THAN ONE

MILLIONTH OF REALITY.

[/spoken]

Fallacious cognitions

spewed from televisions

do mould our decisions.

So stop and take a look,

and you'll see what i see now.

It's all been saved,

with the exception for the right parts.

When will we be new skin?

It's all been seen,

with the exception for what could be.

When will we be new skin?

Searching, what is the group that does that song?

I want to download that. Like, now! That sounds absolutley awesome.

My favorite song that uplifts me everytime is VNV's "End of Days". Oddly enough, it's a song that depresses every other person who hears it. But it makes me feel better. Call it the haunting symphonics, or the talk of the entire world ending - but that is PART of what makes me feel better.

It goes "In retrospect, I'll say we've done no wrong." and continues on to talk about the endlessness of space, of how in the end, we all fold to time and it's winding down.

It reminds me that the pain is not permanent. It gives me hope that those I love WILL. FIND. PEACE, even if it takes death and oblivion. It reminds me that no matter how wronged I have been, or how much I have betrayed others - that perhaps, in the grand cosmic end, there will be no right or wrong - just space where we used to be.

That song always soothes me. It always makes me believe in hope. *Edited to replace the song title with the actual song I was talking about!*

Hey Elsewhere! eusa_angel.gif

The band is Switchfoot. I fist learned about them and grew to appreciate them because of the movie 'A Walk to Remember' (If you have flash, you can visit http://www2.warnerbros.com/walktoremember/intro.html).

I really enjoy both the movie and the soundtrack - many of the songs move me, and from what I've read so far about this band, they also seem like good people.

You can go to the following link and hear a clip of the song also, but naturally, it would be better to hear it in its entirety: http://www.switchfoot.com/musicmain.htm

Keep in mind some of it is more on the rock side. I really hope you will like it.

Other great songs on the soundtrack are Learning to Breathe and You:

LEARNING TO BREATHE

Hello, good morning, how you do?

What makes your rising sun so new?

I could use a fresh beginning too

All of my regrets are nothing new

So this is the way that I say I need You

This is the way

This is the way that I'm

Learning to breathe

I'm learning to crawl

I'm finding that You and You alone can break my fall

I'm living again, awake and alive

I'm dying to breathe in these abundant skies

Hello, good morning, how you been?

Yesterday left my head kicked in

I never, never thought that

I would fall like that

Never knew that I could hurt this bad

So this is the way that I say I need You

This is the way that I say I love You

This is the way that I say I'm Yours

This is the way, this is the way.

YOU

There's always something

In the way

There's always something

Getting through

But it's not me

it's You

Sometime's ignorance

Rings true

But hope is not in

What I know

Not in me

It's in You

It's all I know

And I find peace

When I'm confused

I find hope when

I'm let down

Not in me

But in You

I hope to lose myself

For good

I hope to find it in the end

Not in me

It's You

It's all I know

I will try to check out your song suggestion as well. It sounds very interesting!

Thank you! I am going to check out those links in just a few short moments!

VNV is industrial electronica. Think of a less pissed off version of KMFDM. It's a fairly specialized genre, but if you like even a little of techno with your rock, it's worth a shot.

Thank you!
