Are you a real doctor?

Anyway, I appreciate your help.

I am 15 years old with mild to moderate acne. I weigh 120 pounds and am 5'9". I started getting pimples here and there when I was 12, but nothing bad at all. However, my acne has gotten pretty bad since last November.

I am on Retin-A Micro (which I totally think causes more acne because I get a lot of white-heads with it and I never got whiteheads before). I also take Ortho-tricyclen specifically for acne only. And then I use Clindamycin in the mornings and cleanse with Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I also use Neutrogena moisturizer and occassionally Vita-K. I don't really break out on my cheeks all that much...the main areas of breakout are around my hair line and around my nose and chin. The chin is the worst area for me...I get so many whiteheads there. I shampoo with Nizoral every other day and Suave on the other days.

As for my food, here's a typical day:

Breakfast: Cereal with Orange Juice OR pancakes/waffles with orange juice.

Lunch: Really varies, but usually I eat chicken with curly fries (it's what is at school) or fruit. I always drink water with it.

Snacks: When it's "that time of the month" I eat a lot of sugary items, like cookies, candy and soda. I can't seem to help the cravings. But I don't gain weight from it and I don't see any additional breakouts from it.

Also, I usually have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every other day. And sometimes popcorn.

Dinner: I eat a LOT of pasta and cheese. With usually two glasses of milk or juice.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Acne doctor :^o

I have read through his posts. First of all, let me assure everyone on this board that he is no doctor. The "doctor" seems to have a propensity to swear, and cannot spell to save his life. He spews his anti-milk message to anyone who will listen. There is no link between milk consumption and acne. I would like the "doctor" to please produce the study that shows one. Acne's link to diet is sketchy at best. I do believe that there are certain trigger foods for specific individuals that might exaccerbate acne, but they are few and far between. Chocolate is definitely not one of them. Please do not mislead the good people on these boards into thinking that you have a "cure" for acne and that you really are a doctor. There are many young and desperate people on this board who might actually believe what you are telling them. Judging from a couple of replies, it seems that some are ready to take your bait. If you truly want to help people suffering from acne, maybe it is best if you stop posting altogether. :D#

Well after reading through this thread, I can safely assume I've reached the mould part of an apple.

I don't think he's a REAL doctor. Just one of those charlatens who believes he knows the full conjecture. I can understand why the "doctor" would be misleading people, inevitably rendering heartbreak. He doesn't make his lack of qualifications known and seems to equate acne = frivolous pastime.

Philey: To some, if not all, acne is a debilitating disease and to insist that you can magically cure this with such strong conviction suggests you don't respect these people at all. Even after you signed up to this forum to devote leisure time to your inexorable hatred of acne. EVEN AFTER. Does any molecule within you care to justify yourself?

I don't believe diet has much of a role to play in acne - different people are prone to different allergies. If it was that easy, there wouldn't be Accutane and other such things to aid.

Just thinking that masturbation causes acne frightens me. I hope God isn't related to Gomer Piles, as I'm seriously thinking about branding his Divine Ass.

No I am not a real doctor. After suffering from Cystic Acne for 5 years and trying everything under the sun and having a vast knowledge of Acne and everything to do with acne, I would consider myself an expert on the subject (and curing myself of acne). The doctors only pretend to care about your problems and they only care about money. They feed the Accutane company with large amounts of money. They feed off of your suffering. Now to your acne. I see that you are very skinny. At 5'9 and 120, you must have an exceedingly fast metabolism. First things first. Your diet. If you are serious about getting rid of acne that's where you have to start. I suffered from cystic acne myself and after 5 years I realized that is was milk products. So, try this for a week or so. Cut all deep fried, sugars (high refiened = white), and dairy for a week. Eat as much of anything else as you want. Subsitute eggs in the morning for the bowl of cereal. Second, I would highly recommend that you goto www.ancemiracle.com and purchase a one month of B5. This B5 stuff works wonders. Third, washing your skin should be kept simple. Once a day with soap is plenty. If you really want you can wash two times a day with soap but once in the morning with soap and a shower at night with just water is fine. Last, if you are not already, take a Vitamin a Vitamin e and fish oil supplement (If you are on the B5 you must also take an additional B complex vitamin.) Don't over do it on the amount of vitamin a and e. Anything between 1000 and 5000 IU of A is plenty and vitamin e you will find bottles of 400IU, that is plenty. If you want to know why you should take these supplements, go here http://www.acnemiracle.com/home.html and click on free reports on the side. Then goto the third option about supplements. All in detail for you. So, try that for a week, and if you have any questions post em here O:) .

Hmm interesting. I had cystic acne also. Thing about Accutane is that it is just a temporary solver. It will cover the problem for about a year or so then it will come back. Here's what I recommened. Cut all dairy. This stuff has lactose, very indigestable, and it's full of hormones and antibiotics. It's fine to drink milk when you are a baby cause your body can digest it, but as an adult you lose that ability and it's very indigestable and causes, for me and many other people, cysts and pimples. I have a growing suspision that this is what is causing your cystic acne. Then I would recommend a month of B5. From www.acnemiracle.com . If it works well, which I garuntee it will, you can stay on it for a while. Again, watch the diet. No chocolate, dairy, high refined (white) stuff, and deep fried. If you are really serious about getting rid of your acne, then you gotta watch that diet. Do this and I garuntee you will not get a cyst ever again. And yes, take the vitamin a, e, and fish oil supplements. If you have any question at all don't hesistate to post again.

There is no supported evidence that confirms milk, chocolate or masturbation(!) causes acne.

Just thinking about this makes me cringe. I hope God isn't related to Gormer Piles, as I'm seriously thinking about branding his Divine Ass.

Are you serious? You think the milk and chocolate companies will tell you that they sell a product that causes cysts and pimples in some people? LoL, what do you think that would do to their profits? Not to mention the Accutane company? Listen, you can live in the dark and suffer all you want. I am just trying to help some people that are suffering. So if you don't want to listen, fine with me. Have your acne. Some people don't want to suffer from this horrible crap and they don't have to.

LoL, I don't know why you guys get so offended when a person comes along trying to help people. Funny really. Well, all I can say is have fun poppin' pimples, watching TV in the dark alone, and eating chocolate and drinking milk. I'll be out partying and meeting the ladies. Have fun.

Well the suspicious thing is....after FIVE WHOLE YEARS of extensive, non-medically supervised training in acne prevention, why are you pushing ONE product? Don't you know that a wily salesperson throws in a couple extra products so it doesn't look the way it looks here..... besides, the smart ladies know that a few zits {even a few hundred} will never be as bad as a bold faced liar. Nobody, has the answers, that's why we have this board. But I do agree about the dairy..it is kind of yucky for your skin.

Wow, what an extremely mature reply. Are you taking your ball and going home now? :-/

Maturity has nothing to do with it. You don't like the truth? :D({|=

1. There is no cure for acne, there is only maintenance.

2. Only one reserach paper has been linked to the effects of B5 on acne. I know, I have searched, being that I graduated with a neurophysiology and entering pharmacy school with a special emphasis on dermatology.

3. In the paper, the patients had to take 10 grams of b5, which means 20 pills a day. B5 is a water soluble vitamin and according to the physicians that I've talked to, they don't logically see how b5 may help anyone.

4. The only proven research that I've found in regards to eating and acne is the consumption of Braziliian nuts which contains selenium and other nutrients that keeps an individual from getting acne or if they do get acne, very little.

LOL milk DOES NOT contain LOTs of antibiotics(btw...i know this as I am 3rd year in molecular biology biochemistry). Milk is loaded with bacteria and antibiotics are just in there in low concentrations(about 10 ng/mL)...1L milk=approximately 10^-6 g of antibiotic. Lets say, we were to drink 1000 L of milk....that is about as much as would be needed to have an effect :D

Indigestable to whom? I drink at least one glass of skim milk every day. I eat cheese, ice cream, and yogurt. Dairy is a bane for lactose intolerant individuals. I'll give you that. You know what really screwed up my insides with gas and diarrhea(sorry to the dinner crowd)? Megadoses of B5! Before you reply, I'll tell you that I did everything you were supposed to do, including taking a B Complex vitamin. Hey, B5 worked for you...that's great. It doesn't work for everyone, and I still don't feel that it is safe to take in such high doses. As far as we know, there is only one obscure paper written on B5 as an acne cure by some Chinese researcher. The trouble with acne regimens is that what works for some will not work for others.

I had the exact same thing when I combined b5 and diary.

Holy lamar! someone should thrust a glittery disco ball up your rectum with a croquet mallet!

If you want to blame a certain source for providing us with the bounties of chocolate and milk, go and flame God, or whoever it is you worship. What the fuck has this got to do with the food marketing companies? They are expected to dupe me and you!

Everything is artificial. Chocolate is concoct in grey sludge-funked kitchens. In the US, hormones are added to milk. See what I'm getting at? What's more is it even the fault of corporate monsters that they dupe us?

The aim of commercialism and profit is to SELL SELL SELL. It's not only the food market which gets away with duping customers but gosh! every retail outlet on every avenue of your grey anorak life. Be the fuck real. How many times have you been classically hypnotised by the latest "Nike Air" advertising gimmick? You are the perfect candidate for an elitist gamble.

This is beside the point, actually. The fact is that you seem to believe you're right - and this is the only fact I'd believe in at this moment in time. Have you personally studied cases that prove milk causes acne? Can you give us verified data which proves that this is the truth and not a waver of your conscience? I guess not - because as I'm led to believe, you are the same inconspicuous piece of shit that floats around the solar plexus of our galaxies as the rest of us.

Until you challenge this extremely blatant residue of outburst, we are at a failure to take you seriously. Well, the decent ones, anyway.

I have read this thread like five times trying to understand why Philey is being hated on so much. All he's done is recommended a treatment, just as Dan did. I don't see you all tearing Dan apart. The sheer fact that he recommends a cure, and people then say they want him to die makes me think why people with acne usually have a lack of friends. There is so much anger in your quest for the cure for acne. You all need to ease up on the stress and anger. Chill out and let Philey get some points across. He said acne doctor figuratively, he even said in a post he is not a real doctor.

Heres some other things too.

He isn't the first person to say milk can have a bad impact on your acne. It has been said many times even by professional doctors. Cut him some slack, he didn't invent this out of thin air.

Another thing... he was cured of his acne by his method. So why not share it? That's what he's doing. Maybe he's coming off a little too confident by saying it will cure you. But he's still giving a suggestion. He isn't making anybody use his method. He's just laying out.

I'm sure you are all smart enough to understand. Get real people, and shut up.
