Scarring and all things Accutane

Recommended Posts

I am sure there are many other threads and posts on this topic, but I was curious if many people's acne began scabbing over a whole hell of a lot once they started accutane.

I am exactly 2 weeks into accuatane at 40 mg/day and upon comparing the before picture I took and the current one, my acne only looks worse on my back! I understand that there can be an initial outbreak, but my derm assured me there would be not, and I have an imense amount of scabs forming including what looks like a keloid scar?

I read that keloid scars are often hard, but my question is does anyone know if they start off very soft and painless and harden over time? Also, has anyone else had severe scabbing over almost every pimple? What the hell...I know I need to be patient...just frustrated all of a sudden. 2 weeks isn't a whole lot, I just figured my being on amoxycilin and accutane would prevent any worsening. Other than that, just getting used to having incredibly chapped lips, but no other side effects (knock on wood!) Thanks for listening.

your derm shouldn't have assured there wouldn't be an initial breakout because no1 can predict that. I only have acne on my face but it is still like badish and i'm in my 4th week but it's a lot better then the breakout in my 1st week. Also my skin is dried out so the pimples are all flakey.
