I have to say it's comforting knowing there's other people out there who also have atrophic acne scarring.

I'm making this post because i'm seeing a dermatologist in two weeks. I'd like to document this process through this message board, so i can share my experience.

Here are the specifics to my case:

I believe the majority of my acne scars are of 'box car' nature though there are a few ice pick scars present also.

I'm a 21 yo female with fitzpatrick skin type 4.

I've had three sessions of 'subcision' treatment to my scars. There has been minor improvement - there is evidence of 'raised bumps' within the pit itself.

I completed a 6month course of Isotretinoin 5 years ago.

I'd just like to say : THEY PUT MAN ON THE MOON - don't even try to tell me that we can't work out an effective treatment for atrophic acne scarring.

IT'S ONE OF THE REASON'S I'm STUDYING MEDICINE! - to get into dermatology and MAKE SURE acne scarring can be treated!!
