My Blemish Struggle

Recommended Posts

I have been suffering from some form of acne since I was 13 years old. I was diagnosed with severe cystic acne at age 17 and had to go on Accutane out of desperation. Much to my suprise Accutane worked great and between the ages of 19 and 25 I was completely free of acne. I never thought I would have to deal with acne ever again but for some unknown reason when I turned 26 my skin began breaking out again. I thought it would go away on its on so I didn't panic at first but then people in my family started asking me questions like "why is your face breaking out?" My sister and daughter both were making comments to me and even my girlfriend started asking me why my skin looked so bad. I went on Proactiv and for the first couple of months it seemed to work fine but it's effectiveness wore off soon thereafter and my skin actually started getting worse. Looking for an internal solution I tried a product called Loma Lux Acne Pill. Since it boasted that it is hemeopathic and works from the "inside out" I decided to give it a try. It was also supposed to fade red marks but after two months my skin did not improve and I flused the rest of the pills down the toilet. Which brings me to the present, I have been able to get my acne under control but I am having a hell of a time getting rid of these red marks. I have tried a number of products but haven't had much success with any of them. I am currently using Palmer's Cocoa Butter Soap as recommended by a dermatologist but it doesn't seem to be helping. Out of curiosity I am trying this new product called Clear Pores which is a herbal supplement that is supposed to clear up blemishes as well as prevent further breakouts. I have only been on it for a couple of days so I don't have any results to report right now but I will let you all know if I see any results in the near future. In the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions as far as getting rid of red marks please let me know. Thanks! eusa_wall.gif
