Acne grow after taking Organic Drink

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I used to have very nice skin for 26 years and I have not had acne at all for my past 3 years. Currently I drink the Organic drink introduced by my friend for 1 month. It's the drink consist of only organic vegetables and fruits. According to this drink introduction, it's a good drink to help to clean our body and maintain our health. Most of the consumers have no problem drinking it and they do have improvement on their skin.

But my problem is, after drinking it for 1 month, my acne grow terribly. I went back to the company and questioned on it, they told me it actually improving my body system and causing my hormone changed. Hence, my acne grows. They said it's a good sign and that I should continue drinking until it cleanse all my toxins and my face will recover.

I am not sure how true it is, I just can't stand for my acne grow. Why would I want to go through this process while I used to have a very nice skin? I would like to know the real cause of my acne grow before I can take any action to cure my skin. Any advise on this?

Have to be the devils advocate here. If the drink makes you break out

stop drinking it. You are here because you have a problem with having

an acne problem. Good health comes from a good diet (edited as you

may need, if you have acne and react to certain things) and a host of

other things besides one particular drink. This shouldn't change that.

Acne is not caused by 'toxin flushing' nonsense. I say this as a huge

proponent of organic everything (well, as much as I can) as a part

time (90%) vegetarian who takes anti-oxidants and so on. I even

vote green and so on. I'll be the first to support something that

can help you, but this does not appear to be helping you out.

Put simply. Something in that is causing you to react with acne

or acneform lesions. You should stop and see if they stop. It

could be a co-incidence, but that's not likely. There are many

dietary things that can cause some (not everyone) to react

with acne. Me-Iodine/Flourine/Chlorine/Bromine (halogens)

too much salt, and all partially or fully hydrogenated oils.

Judging by how you've described it, they may have tossed Kelp

in there (seaweed). They may call it Carageenan, Kombu, Agar,

Sodium Alginate. Those are the highest sources of Iodine known.

It is the # 1 dietary halogen to cause breakouts for me and for

some others (not everyone). It may be a vegetable included in

that which is high in iodine (Asparagus, Broccolli, Onions, Corn).

I doubt it's the sodium content, but you never know. V8 Juice

requires a high amount of sodium to taste good. Compare the

low salt to the regular version and you'll see what I mean. I do

not drink it, not only due to salt, but it's inclusion of Cellery which

is known to contain an aflatoxin-like substance (i.e. bad for you).

Alright, let's try to explain this, this is my theory:

Originally the drink you started taking flushed out the toxins (alkalined your body, which candida cannot live in, therefore dies and produces toxins which expel thru the skin if you don't flush them out quickly)

Also, you might of had an allergy to a product inside the drink, or maybe your body doesn't like one of the ingredients in the product. Which would of caused acne.

But apparently you stopped the drink, so what's happening now? Well I'd have to say you're probably getting a higher concentration of sugar and less alkalized blood, therefore the candida is quickly growing back overwhelming your liver, producing acne.

In addition to that, the psychological effects of having acne after a long time are devastating and you're probably stressed, worried, angry about it. And that just gives you more acne.

So what's the solution ? Well it's not really a simple one but here's my idea on it. First of all, cut down on ALL the sugar you're eating. Then I'd try to help our your liver by taking Milk Thistle, this should rebalance you. And make sure you're eating a lot of fiber so you can have excrete it all.

After that, work on clearing your mind, not thinking about it, being HAPPY. Get outside, do something it's nice & warm these days.

Kaybee: Thanks for your explaination. I am thinking of fasting for 3 days to flush out the toxins. But I don't think I should continue drinking that Organic drink right? As what that product company's consultant has told me that I should continue drinking until all toxins are cleansed. But I am afraid of taking another risk.

yeah umm if i was in your situation I probably wouldn't take it again either. But what they are saying does have merit, and it might not be that bad.

However, when something doesn't affect me in a positive way, i listen to my body immediately before anyone else. As I said before, you might have a reaction to something in the product, although probably not... but you never know.

heh, i'm not sure fasting is the way to fix everything, unless you fast with apples, that should clear out the toxins since it has a ton of fiber. If you fast 'normaly' and you don't take a bunch of fiber, it's going to get even worse!

Fasting would only increase the whole detox in your body, which I was trying to slow down so your body can cope and acne fade away.

However, if you're willing to give it a shot and 'get it over with', then go ahead and fast with apples. You'll probably get more acne the first day and after 3 days, it should be done and over with. (well in theory wink.gif My only concern with that is that apples have a decent amount of sugar and it might clean out the toxins, but not help with the candida (which was the problem in the first place)

Honestly, it depends how bad your acne is. If it's horrible, then go for it and do the fast, clean yourself out, give it one shot (like taking off a bandaid)

If you're breaking out, but still liveable, then i'd still recommend my original way as it should bring you back to normal.

Kaybee: My problem now is not that horrible, it just breaks out 2 or 3 pimples every few days since January and never stop. I want my pimples to totally stop growing very badly because I have sensitive skin that the scars and red marks can never fade away for months.

Where can I get the info about candida? I am not very sure what it is.

> Blond Grand Mix

Never heard of this. I wouldn't drink something with such a nebulus ingredient.

> Oat Bran

Good for you, but probably minimal, if not, it'd be too thick to drink.

> Spirulina

Not safe to consume, neither is Chlorella. Both could be contaminated,

both also have a natural toxic component that could be harmful too...

> Carrot, Spinach

Healthful, won't affect your skin either way.

> Celery

Celery may contain naturally occuring toxins, I won't eat it.

> Spices

Who knows what spices, but probably harmless and won't affect your skin.

> Kelp

The highest natural source of Iodine. A garbage ingredient, cheap and easy

to get, they put it in there though there is no real benefit. High in nutrients,

yes, but nutrients you can also get from other sources.

> Swiss Chard, Watercress, Papaya Enzyme

Harmless, no affect on skin.

> Hydrolyazed Soy Protein

Soy isn't good. Also, Hydrolyzed means broken down into free amino

acids, freeing up the Glutamate, which isn't a good thing for your health.

> Kale, Dulse, Ginger

Harmless, no affect on skin.

> Soy Protein and Parsley.

Parsley is harmless, healthful, won't affect skin.

I never eat anything with Soy in it, go to this site to see why:

http://www.mercola.com/article/soy

Nothing particularly 'cleansing' about this. I'm a big fan of progressive

sciences and alternative medicines, but I can say the whole 'drink this

to detox' is a lot of nonsense. Especially regarding acne.

Acne is NOT causd by 'toxins' in the body, yes, what we eat MAY affect

us if we are sensitive to it. Iodine, Carbonation, that affects me, but it

is not becuase they are toxic, it's a natural inflammatory reaction.

To sum it up. I hate to say this, but that formula probably started you

on some breakouts, but I don't think any breakouts you have now are

linked to it, if you've been off it for months, it's out of your system. No,

save your money, don't start on it again.

Seek out healthy, organic food, yes, but that doesn't mean this is of benefit.

I try to eat healthy and organic, I don't drink or eat any 'detoxify' products

however, I have tried all that and it didn't help my acne when I did.

I'd gather you may not even be treating your acne. Washing your face once

or twice, maybe rubbing on some OTC medicine, but that's not enough. Let

us know what you are doing to fight acne, maybe we can suggest something.

I have stop drinking it for months but the acne still growing, this is what worrying me. I don't know what this drink has affected my body.

I am now following Anthony's program to have apple fast-flush for 4 days. The only way I can think of is totally cleanse my liver. Today is my 3rd day of fasting, but yesterday I still got 4 minor break out.
