subcision/needling the UK

Recommended Posts

After reading so much about this technique, I am desperate to try it and wondered if anyone knows anywhere in the UK, preferably near or in the London area where I can get this done. I'm not really too bothered about cost.

allan - Bio2Clinic in the Leamingon Spa is where i have had needling. You need to speak wih Julie Arnold - she told me that she will also be working in London at a clinic 1 day a week soon.

I have had subcision done and can definitely recommend the following drs in London:

1) Dr Anthony Chu (Hammersmith Hospital). He is a dermatologist and acne/acne scar specialist. Tel: 0208-383-3264. Keep trying on this number. There will be a recorded message giving another number for appts, but there is a long waiting list on that number.

2) Dr Jan Stanek (Harley Street). I haven't the number to hand but you will find him in the telephone directory. He is a plastic surgeon.

I have been treated by both the above and can definitely recommend them. Good luck. I haven't had needling but Maya has a good contact.

I spoke with Dr Chu - he said that for ice picks and deeper scars, subcision is a must - and that needling wasn't as effective (I agree on that) - He also said that for deep picks, punch excision was the best treatment.

Maya, really? I had one appointment with Julie before Christmas that she had to cancel, but she rang me with plenty of notice to say that she was unable to keep the appointment. We simply re-scheduled for a later date. Julie has always been very professional every time I've seen her.

This wasn't related to you allan - but with other posters. She was fine with me too. But I just wanted to add that because others had booked time off work and had been let down.

How did it go for you?

It has been fine everytime I've been (about 5 times I think). Julie always seems very professional and we chat alot and she seems very understanding.

It's mainly only been effective for the ice pick type scars. I've had microdermabrasion done twice and needling done all the other times. The larger boxcar type scars it hasn't really done anything for. I am finding glycolic peels far more effective for those types of scars.
