eating before a accutane bloodtest

i know they say dont eat 12hours before a bloodtest for accutane...

But why cant you eat?

And really does it matter if you do?

Cuz im soo freakin hungary and my bloodtest isnt til 7 and i didn't wake up til 10..

so i havent eaten all day and this sucks...:-(

eating raises your triglyceride level which was what they measure when they are checking your blood.

You're going to have a lab analyze your blood so your doctor knows what your metabolism is like at a fasting state. If you aren't fasting then he'll get the test, see that your triglycerides are 900 and tell you to discontinue the medication.

Also when performing the tests, lab techs spin down your blood in a centrifuge, the thixotropic gel seperates your cellular material from the plasma. We can always tell someone who's eaten right before a test because their serum will look cloudy instead of clear. You can literally see the fat and in some cases can completely interfere with the testing process.
