does health insurance pay fr acne scar treatments?

Man that aint cool. No i dont think health insurance does pay for scar treatments although i may be wrong. Read some of the cool methods on here and try em out, worth a shot. Im sure ur scars arent as disfuiguring as the elephant mans were, so keep your head up.

Yes, there are some insurances that will pay for acne scar revision, but only for certain methods and there are certain guidelines. Im not sure all of the insurances that cover it but I do know that blue cross blue shield does under certain situations. Usually any surgery performed by a plastic surgeon is uncovered but some such as dermabrasion and chemical peels done by surgical dermatologist can be covered. The best thing to do is call a local dermatologist and see what is covered; I have found that every doctors office will vary and so will your individual situation. If you have active acne you may be able to get procedures done that work as dual treatments (active acne and scarring); a lot has to do with your insurance company and how the doctor bills it.
