What's my chance??

Recommended Posts

Well I have been off accutane for about 7 months and haven't had any real bad breakouts (knock wood). I have had the occasional small one. I have had a lot of really tiny ones (tiny whiteheads). What do you think my chances are of staying clear for....ever??

Any insights or factual info. about the cure ratios for accutane users??

Thanks for your help! This may not be directly linked to scarring, but I have scarring and this messageboard has sincere replies.

Jamie,

I think it depends on the individual. I took accutane in 1997 (had modertate acne) and it worked wonders, although it is 2003 and I still get the occasional flair up. But over all, my skin has improved.

Accutane (Isotretinion) decreases the amount of oil produced by the skin's sebaceous glands therefore decreasing chances active all-over acne. Although some people have taken a 2nd-3rd course. I guess it depends on the severity of a persons oil glands.
