Wow, I'd say that's pretty serious too, especially on your chin.

I cannot offer any advice (I too suffer from acne crap), but I wish you the best of luck in getting rid of that. If I were you, I wouldn't worry too much about scarring as much as just getting rid of he redness. Cause, as nodoubt said, you have beautiful eyes, and don't really seem that unnattractive. I don't think scars that are about the same color as your skin would affect anyone's opinion of you besides really shallow people. Maybe on their first sight, but it most likely wouldn't be a bother.

If I were you, I'd try to get this cleared ASAP, but if something may work with the slight chance of scarring, I wouldn't rule it out.

Good luck!!

Yeah. That is pretty serious. The no swimming is a real bitch isn't it. I realise it's kind of a big deal to go to a dermatologist, but i you just have to get past it and realise in the long run it's going to make things better. I don't know about other people but i found going to the doctor and talking about my acne problem quite liberating. Still I realise it is a big deal and i wouldn't want to patronize you. Yeahif it is any consoloation as others have said you do have nice eyes. I guess the point to remember is that acne is affliction, and one shouldn't be defined by it.

Have you tried oral antibiotics? They may not clear you up completely but could help, the most effective one in my opinion is minocycline, but doxycycline and ethromycin are also good (don't bother with ethromycin though, many people have resistance to this. Also worth considering are topical antibiotics - cleomycin, Klaron etc.

Also try cutting out milk-based products from your diet (inc. cheese) and taking 10g of Vitamin B5 a day. Herbal medicines (e.g. burdock, echinacea) may also help a little bit.

hope this helps, hang in there!

Dude, just try the B5, it has never effected my stomach, just take it with food. Try taking herb tinctures like nettles, milk thistle, celery and wormwood/black walnut. If you dont have any place to get that stuff around you, then get it off the internet. Its a little expensive, but I had acne similar to yours and they helped a ton. They're like natural antibiotics.

Another thing, drop the tetracycline, it made my acne worse and it doesn't do anything. Get a better antibiotic like doxy, or mino....I feel for you man, good luck

I took 20mg of B5 a day for like, 4 months, and it really makes your skin a lot less oily, but at $8 a bottle, and you need...I think 2 bottles a week...or was it every 2 weeks, I dunno', it gets kinda' spendy. Yea, it's 1 bottle a week. So, $80 a month. Actually that's not bad, lol. My 5% BP and Anti-biotics that didn't do jack was $75 a month, so.

If your skin is oily, go ahead and try the B5, who knows, might work. Anything is worth a try when you have acne.

I just tried this out...Liver Cleanse....It may seem like new-age hippy bull-crap, but it really works. By works, I mean you actually DO get a lot of stones out of your liver, but I'm not sure if it helps with acne yet, I just got done with it today and I umm..."passed" around 50 stones from my liver. It's really kind of gross thinking that crap was actually in there.

I've been to the forums there and everyone who said they had acne before they tried it said it was going away, so I gave it a shot. All you need is Epsom Salt, some Olive Oil, and some Grapefruit/Oranges/Something with citrus for taste purposes. Cost me like, $5, lol. If it works, it's the cheapest remedy ever.

It makes sense. Your liver takes toxins out of your body, if there's a ton of stones in your liver blocking stuff up, it releases toxins through your skin rather than your..."Backdoor".

I'd say try B5, but before you do that, give this a try, it takes under 24 hours, but you said you can't do anything harsh to your stomach...I dunno' if you could do this then, this gives you diahhrea, but that's it. It didn't hurt my stomach at all, but I'm just warning you if you did want to give it a shot, it gives ya' the poops. razz.gif

Good luck, I'd do something about it ASAP before you get tons of scars.

By the way, what's your name? You look like a guy I used to know, facial features, he even had acne like yours, so I'm suspicious that I may know you...Your name isn't Torey, is it? razz.gif

About not having dairy products: I have been doing that for the past little while, actually. Funny you mentioned it. The reason is because of Crohn's, and it will give me a flare-up if I have lots of dairy or wheat and other certain things.

Thanks, everyone. I have an appointment down in Vancouver (there are no dermotologists here) in a little over two weeks.

It seems like I have periods of remission, like, one morning I will wake up and find that most of it is gone, but by the end of the day (omg it is so quick!) I will have tons of nodules and huge whiteheads. Its really quite gross, leaking nasty, disgusting pus sebum crap or whatever the hell it is from my chin.

Kind of odd - nobody else in my family has acne, nor ever had. My back is getting better, and it has been getting better every day since about six months ago, but I'm more worried about my face. I'm getting large, swollen packets of pus right in front of my ear, and they're really painful. I think they're cysts. And I'm getting pimples right behind my ear, on my neck, and yeah...

B5 sounds like it works, I mean, hey, if it stops oil, it's got to work! I'll try it out.

I hate having greasy, oily skin. I have to wipe my face off every class or two at school (or every 2-3 hours). I hope it'll get better.

Hey, thanks a lot to all of those people with their kind encouragement. I'm glad I can come here and post some rather nasty pictures but get good advice, and not have stupid people call me names and laugh. =)

I know its really hard but try not to wipe the oil off your face. I tried everything the doctor threw at me for months on end and ended up going to see a specialist who told me before i tried anything else i had to detox and let my skin adjust from the drying effect of previous medication. She told me that because i was wiping the oil off my face throughout the day and putting on drying alcohol based creams my skin would just overcompansate and over produce oil and the acne would just get worse and worse and i would be back at square one!

My heart goes out to you and i hope that by having this web site you feel better that there are people that have been through simular experiences and came out the other side. I remember hiding my face in a scarf and wearing jumpers that came all the up to my nose just to avoid people playing dot to dot on my face whilest having a conversation with me! Now people even compliment me on my skin and because of the oils that have caused me problems in the past they now keep my skin moist and i wont suffer from wrinkles and sun damage because i know how to look after my skin and how important it is to have a good daly skin care.

Stay Strong your are not alone X wink.gif

I tried to buy vitamin B5 today. I couldn't find anything greater than 20mg or 50mg tablets. I asked the pharmacist about taking 10g a day and she laughed at me, and said it was dangerous, and that if i wanted any more than 50mg, I'd need a prescription from a doctor.

You are a good candidate for this---

This is a tip for those who suffer from severe acne breakouts. Use a clean pump spray bottle like an old hairspray bottle and mix 75% three fourths 3% hydrogen peroxide with 25% one fourth 70% rubbling alcohol. On a clean face spray but do not scrub and just let it set there. Do not spay near the eyes. The solution kills the bateria deep down that creams cant reach. Only do this once or twice a week in addition to the acne creams. Both items can be bought at any grocery store or drugstore. Do not get it on colored clothing. It is best to do after a shower and before bed. You can also apply the homemade solution with a cotton ball or pad.

The spray method from the above tip would probably help back acne but dont get it on colored clothing or smoke while you do it.
