Does B5 hinder absorbtion of OxyTetracycline?

Recommended Posts

I've been prescribed Oxytetracyline (two 250mg tablets twice a day), but am unsure if taking B5 will interfer with its absorbtion (Oxytetracyline will bind to calcium in the stomach, instead of reaching the skin). The reason I'm asking is that I've been told to avoid calcium-based foods (e.g. dairy products) at least two hours either side of taking Oxytetracyline (not a problem, as I'm vegan), but I have been taking 3g of B5 (i.e Calcium Pantothenate ) twice a day for the last 6 months, which has seemed to make some improvement. Will the calcium in Calcium Pantothenate prevent absorbtion of the Oxytetracyline? If so, will taking the B5 two hours before/after the Oxytetracyline prevent this from happening?
