an astringent is for oily skin and usually has harsher shit in than a toner. But i find it just makes oily skin worse. They strip the skin of natural oils and the skin compensates with its on oil. I would stay away from toners/astrin. unless they are natural like the green tea toner you can read about in the red marks forum. also, the vinegar toner doesn't seem too bad.
