I'm diary, caffeine, chocolate free.

I drink 2 ltrs bottled water a day.

I only eat organice food and have minimum 5 fruit and veg a day.

I take Vit E + Selenium, Zinc with copper, Multi vit, B complex and Probiotics.

I actually feel fantastic but I have cyst like spots on my chin and around my nose.

I've been on diannette, yasmin, oxytetracycline and today I started a 8 week course of minocycline 100mgs.

I read somewhere about a herb called 'saw palmetto'. Has anyone tried this?

Thanks

Tracey

how long were you on oxtetracycline and how many tablets a day did you take and how long did it take to wear off?

I was on oxy for 8 months. The spots came back within a month. I was expecting a repeat prescription today but my GP recommended minocin.

He said minocycline was expensive to make which is why oxytetracycline is more readily prescribed.

I could be wrong, but I think Saw Palmetto is for men. I know it's only in the men's health section of the vitamin store, cause of it's prostate benefits.

perhaps you should consider seeing a dermatologist ? since you mention that your acne is rather cystic, the dermatologist might consider putting you on Accutane. on a low dosage even. just my opinion.

Hi Harp,

I think it somehow reduces the amount of testosterone in your body. I've seen it linked to prostate problems too.
