I do agree with DrH that cannula subcision only punches a hole and is kind of useless. From my own experience with cannula subcision, it doesn't do the work cleanly, even if I repeated it a few times. So I'd love to have a Taylor Liberator subcision that completely cleans up my deep layer stuff. Also, I do believe subcision is a generally effective treatment for any kind acne scars, even including ice picks. There is always more or less deep layer tethering regardless of the scar types. Cutting them done not only helps releasing scar bands but also promotes collagen production from the underneath.

I had been thinking about going to Dr. Mark Taylor in SLC for his big procedure. However, I feel like that alone won't make my skin significantly better because I have a lot of shadow ice picks/ large size enlarged pores. Although Dr. Taylor does laser for multiple (~5 to 6) passes, it still cannot cover the full field. Also, he usually uses Fotona SP Dynamis + Starwalker, which IMO are kind of too weak and not penetrating deep enough. So I think Dr. Rullan's phenol peel would probably give me better result. I don't have significantly visible tethering or large area skin pull-down. However, when I touch my face carefully, I can feel there are some fibrosis under my skin. Not sure if that's due tofibrotic reaction from my past subcision (I did at least 4 or 5, but I don't think the previous doctor did them comprehensively).

So the ideal world for me would be Taylor Liberator subcision + phenol peel. It would be perfect if Dr. Rullan can do theTaylor Liberator subcision asDr. Mark Taylor when doing the phenol peel. IIRC, I've seen someone in this forum mentionedTaylor Liberator subcision with Dr. Rullan. Does he do TL subcision?
