It kinda depends how pitted your scarring is but generally no. Perhaps tret will work if you have very very shallow scarring, and make up for scarring is difficult because it can easily accentuate acne scarring. Try pore filling primers and silicone based ones. I go for something light and natural in terms of foundation as the more you cake make up on the more it just makes the scarring look so much worse.

Tretinoinis inferior to Tarzotene. I have used Tarz for 6 years now? Since 2017. It's the best thing I've ever done. I don't get much acne unless it's some rash or food I ate and I don't have a single wrinkle (and I am highly expressionist and have never used botox). However, I am also in my mid-20s, so perhaps it's also due to genetics and youth. Anyways, it turns over the cells at about double the rate that tret does. So for example, if it takes one month for tretinoin to shed old cells and renew it, Tarz does it in about two weeks. The constant shedding and renewing of skin cells promotes collagen and a smoother texture and brighter appearance.

For reference, I use the 0.1% foam (Fabior). I have used the cream before though for years. Foam or gel is better because it absorbs into the skin easier which allows it to take effect much faster. I got back into the foam beginning fall of 2021.

Did you find tarzotene helped with your atrophic scarring? Also, do you apply it daily even though its more irritating?

Yes and yes. It was irritating at first and its irritating if my skin is broken (peeled skin) but other than that I'm used to it.
I've been using tretinoin 2-3 days a week to attempt to cure color and texture issues, I haven't really seen much effect on scars but the overall texture seems a bit better which sort of translates into making scars look less noticable. But honestly it's too early to tell. I have some days that the tretinoin accentuates everything and when my skin rests it seems to look good days later. Tretinoin also seems to help with bacteria and/or oil a bit so if you have any of that lingering it probably helps.
I would recommend treinoin for texture and for superficial scarring, but I would keep it at 2-3 days a week so the skin can rest because most of our skin barriers are screwed up.
