Ive had 3 microneedling and one RF microneedling which clearly do next to nothing for my scars. Subcision/filler? Excision? In good lighting they arent that visible. But shadows/overhead is horrific and im tired of obsessing.

ccmeow hey there i confide in your struggles my scars are worser...I did subcision and filler as well as excision and now at 45 years old they aint better at all...its just so hard to improve acne scarring the shadows will always show

you can see my pictures in my threads

And as ive said before not trying to put someones hopes downs or treatments down its just my experience...maybe it would work for you?

Excision didnt work? Isnt that cutting out the scar and getting a new small linear one? I feel like thats probably my best hope for the deep ones. Thanks for the reply and i feel your struggle as well

The general consensus here is that microneedling is generally the least effective treatment based on countless threads here. It is often what you get from beauticians, not acne scar specialists.

If you are after suggestions here, you will need to post pictures of your scars. There are many different scar types and different treatments available based on the scar.

Upload photos of your scars with overhead lighting in order to get the most tailored advice. Otherwise, you'll just be receiving pretty generalized information which may be counterproductive when you're looking for specific recommendations

the good news is you are a light skin type so you will respond quite well with laser treatments. Have you been seeing a dermatologist for your RFM treatments?

Subcision with proper aftercare will give you improvements. Try it first.

Unfortunately in my area theres not many derms that perform the RFM. They usually push those things off to their esthetician or send you to one. I am thinking of going to see dr. Anil shah in chicago, as he specializes in all acne scar treatments including subcision which i want to try next with filler but im nervous.

You dont have much texture issues just focus on subcision and filler sessions. Maybe laser to improve the color of scarred skin or angling on the scars.

The way dermabrasion works is removes everything even healthy skin but logically you cant abrade the scars to level of your icepick scars or deep boxcars. The first method in scar revision is improving the the depression overall and once the scarred skin is closer to surface go for full face procedure either fully ablative laser or go with dermabrasion but have more risks with this procedure such as dermabrasion. I dont think you should approach with go big or go home, if you still want to be aggressive you can always test spot it and then think if you want to go big. Dermabrasion will make the skin appear smoother. I am not sure what he means all icepick scars but Id dont believe that, icepick, can be two type tiny or deep. If he had tiny icepick then it is possible he remove 80 percent plus.
