as we age will they come back? is nothing really worth the money and risk. i.e subcision, laser co2 , dermapen. i get that aging affects this but is it really that determinant that as we age the scars will come back.

very true. its HARD to find an honest one. but yes one of them told me that to me seemed sincere.. that about 70 percent improvement is possible. the ones that sell you on laser treatments from the start , usually those are in it for the money. people dont know what scars do to a person

some , if I would say none that would be a lie. about 10 percent improvement.but nothing major. i did 2 laser treatments, co2 the deka laser. but i would go for subcision first and tca methods befor laser. when you tell them no to laser they get dissappointed, their mood changes. its really a cold world out there. money moves and rules this earth

it is highly dependent on the person that does it to you. make sure they are experts with the laser. and no that dr wanst reponsive or dilligent. money grabber. but not everyone is like that. hence my comment on finding and honest doctor. it should go like this ...manual procudres like subcision first then lasers and microneedling etc.lasers are almost always last. but first truly get acne under control. i had to go on accutane. so i had to wait a little.

Ive had this username for the past 10 years. Havent seen any reason to change it.

Thisis adepressing topic lol.

Eventually someone will tackle it as engineering problem rather than regenerative medicine. At the end of the day I dont think people care about hair follicles or sweat glands, as long as you dont look like Swiss cheese.

Yes. Even celebrities have acne scars. They have a lot more money than us. If they can't fix it, we probably won't be able to either.

monomorphic-like scarring can be vanished completely. But it's rare.

I believe they will develop a filler consisting of your stem cells that when injected will program the chain reaction that leads to collagen synthesis. It is a matter of time. It won't be developed with acne scars in mind, oh no, for you see that isn't the big moneymaker. It will be an anti aging with acne scars being a peripheralbeneficiary. Right now they are building entire organs straight from scratch via stem cells. Building collagen is child's play.

wow thats amazing. and yes on the money part. funding is required , leveled with income being made and acne scars arent common procedures. the thing or question is when it will happen?

it was me. I had several scars on my temple and after one nokor sub + couple of light peels + tretinoin for several months there is nothing left. I am not making a big deal out of it because I have very severe scars all around my face so I am not focusing on such tiny things. I am not uploading my photos to this forum for some reasons but you can trust me.

I had a scar that got I'd say 100% improvement by punch elevation. It was a chicken pox scar, so it was perfectly round and symmetrical, but still...it was very deep. Now I genuinely can't tell exactly where it used to be even when I really try to find it.

I don't think any ablative method can achieve this, though. Never got any noticable improvement from those.

Unfortunately there is no way to completely rid yourself of the scarring. Improvement is possible, but you can''t get your old skin back

I'm talking mainly about dermabrasions and TCA peels. Never got any results from those and I had them done many times. Subcision also did nothing for me.

Punch elevations worked, but they can't be done on every type of scar sadly, which is why I'm still struggling with scars. They work mainly on boxcars. It's definitely a lot less painful than dermabrasion, peels, or subcisionand I'm going to guess lasers as well. Anesthesia is injected in your face, the pain of that is similar to when you get anesthesia for dental procedures. After that you shouldn't feel much. Goes for both punch excisions and elevations.

Of course, pain is the last thing on my mind here. The thing I was most afraid of when I had these done is that they would fail.

Improvements, even considerable ones, are possible (and this forum is proof of this). but it is also possible to get worse, so it is important to contact competent specialists, and to consider the risks and benefits. But these improvements require at least 1 year of treatment and healing. On average, 2-3 years of at least 3-5 treatments. Those looking for perfection, however, will be disappointed. Many users have improved and their happiness is quite evident. Personally I think that a normal person, with realistic expectations, would already be very happy with objective improvements of even 30-40%.
