NEED Help for big pores + Microneedling dot SCARS!

I've done microneedling and unfortunately , it left me with a larger quantity of pores that are noticeable in quantity and also larger, also it left me with some microneedling dot marks which I'm unsure if they are pores or scars. I think it has left me with a bit of decreased elasticity also.

Would be nice to get some reccomendations as this has consumed alot of my energy and decreased my overall confidence, and is taking up a huge mental toll.

Any questions or opinions/advice are welcome!

Thanks so much for your reply and I know briefly about it but i'll read more into it!

I'm hoping that I can restore collagen and I think that should make a big difference in my pore size + overall texture.
I'm just not sure as to what extent it has been damaged already my skin and elasticity.
Any reccomendations on what % to start off with and the frequency of the treatments.

Would anyone know if INFINI RF with PRP can help decrease pore size and decrease small scars on my skin surface ?

I would say no to decreasing pore size. There's a chance Infini could improve your small scars but in my opinion the difference will be very minimal and you'll be out $1,000k faster than you know it. If you do multiple sessions of Infini, the better, but it's not a miracle device that some YouTube doctor says it is.

What exactly would you say the purpose of INFINI RF is then, also would you have any other reccomendations? I'm open to any ideas that I will also present to my acne scar specialist that I'm planning on going to soon. Any decent idea will help me open up my possible options.

Right now i'm thinking of starting with TCA peel 15% since there is also persistent redness and discolouration.

Infini can help with the small scars in my opinion. But it's overhyped and probably won't meet people's expectations. If you have the money and can do many treatments, sure. But for deeper scars, I don't have much hope in it.

I don't have big pores so I don't have experience with this. Maybe someone else knows. I would opt for TCA peels and maybe fractional CO2 lasers after you've exhausted cheaper treatments.

Yeah TCA peels seem to be what most people agree on.

I just have a question regarding this whole journey to you and everyone else also that wants to comment.

How much doubt did you have prior to starting on this journey? I've had bad cystic acne and acne scars for years now and it's something I guess that has caused trauma and I am faced with great doubt right now and just wondering if thats normal or not.

TCA peels may make a little difference but it's not a miracle treatment. It's a cheap treatment that needs to be repeated many times. I read on this forum that, combined with microneedling, peels can help with minor scars somewhat.I think Cross can also help some of your scars but you'll need many treatments.

I felt the same way. I hated my skin for many years and so did many others here. I started many years ago by buying over the counter creams, gels, sheets, etc. thinking that they would help me. I was naive then. Lasers became even bigger so I tried that but it didn't work - years later, I realized that the operator of the laser is extremely important. Fractional CO2 laser treatment helped me the most.

But to answer your question, I did have scars that I didn't think could be improved as well as they were. But I kept browsing the internet and tried different treatments. This cost me a lot of money but I found out what was best for my scars. Unfortunately, spending money and being patient is what many people are stuck with..... unless you nail the treatment that works best for you in the beginning.

People doubt when they have suspicion. They're suspicious because they are indecisive, uncertain about the outcome. If you want to get over that, empower yourself with proper knowledge. Know what and who you're dealing with. Learn everything about scar treatments. Don't merely rely on other people's opinions, including the professionals, and hope that they will answer with your best interest at heart.

I realize that the orange peelish texture is accentuated by the redness that is still present. I think my goal initially is to remedy the redness + stimulate collagen so that the pores don't appear as large and the area doesn't look as unpleasant.

In terms of chemical peels do you have any idea if medium chemical peels make a difference in this regard? I know that there are superficial and medium peels and medium peels are supposed to penetrate into deeper layers and thus the potential rewards are greater , but obviously with greater risks of side effects.

Yeah , I am doing my best to research to give me a broader range of knowledge.

I have also looked into some acne scar dermatologists within NZ which in itself is a niche since New Zealand is such a small country. I will go into the consultation only after doing a fair bit of research and hopefully he has my best interests in mind

(I believe the dermatologist that I have eyed up has been doing this for a while so hopefully his expertise can help me)
Currently also , I am determined and saving a large sum of money so I can whole-heartedly put my efforts into treating acne scars. I know the process won't be instant but it's something that I feel like needs to be started soon , as I've been suffering far too long.

I am also willing and ready to travel overseas if necessary but I feel like I should start locally as a starting point and go on from there.

Check out this doctor for the red marks. The costs for the over-the-counter products isn't much relative to scar treatment, but things do add up.

Red Acne Scars DOCTOR V |BROWN/DARK SOC| PIE| TREAT Post Inflammatory Erythema marks | ACNE CURE| - YouTube

I've had redness after many treatments and I just gradually let it fade.

Superficial peels won't do anything for scars but it's best to work your way up so you will know how much your skin can tolerate. It's dangerous to start at a really high percentage first.

HI guys , Just a quick UPDATE.

I went in for a consultation a second time around , the first practitioner suggested fractional C02 Laser + Vbeam laser.
I didn't have a good intuition about the first practitioner and felt that he didn't really care about my questions or specific concerns so I went for a second consultation with another practitioner.
The second practitioner suggested Picosure laser x 5 which said it will be beneficial for my hyperpigmentation + pore size. With picosure laser though , I know it's not as strong so the collagen stimulating affect is a bit concerning, although the doctor did mention that It would stimulate collagen.
I think i'll go ahead with this treatment first since it seems a lot less risky than fractional C02 laser, which I may move on to after seeing how much skin tolerates to lasers in general.

What do you guys think??

I think those would both work - less risk of hyperpigmentation with the Picosure. Good to go with the doctor you feel most comfortable with.

Correction to the treatment that I will be having. I'm not having picosure laser but instead picoway , which I believe is a little bit different in terms of the power or something.

Hey mate I am having similar skin issues as you a couple of deeper scars the rest shallow rolling and boxcars and bad texture on an area. I will be following your thread here mate and hope you'll get the improvement you wish. I am not quite sure if the picoway laser is the non ablative fractional laser from Candela? I'm thinking of getting a few sessions of non ablative laser as well hoping to get rid of the texture issues and improve the shallow scars. I'm also interested in the co2 fractional ablative laser but am not sure how my skin is gonna react to it. Keep us posted here mate it'll help a lot.

Yep , I will most likely start treatment within the month and I will for sure keep you guys updated + posted!

Yeah and I do believe the Picoway laser is from Candela, the doctor handed me a pamphlet of it. It's supposed to work well for pigmentation but apparently there's some collagen remodelling effects of it as well. We'll have to see first though how effective it is or not. It should be really good for my scarred areas with bad pigmentation that doesn't seem to budge though. Oh yeah , this laser is also good for east asian skin types where fractional Co2 laser can pose more risks.

Hi chingym8

I am considering doing picowayfor small pores on my forehead and skin texture and was wondering how your treatment went with picoway?

did you see any reduction in pore size with the picoway?

thanks

Hi I hate Pores.
I've only had 1 treatment of Picoway and I'm not sure that I see an entirely big difference after just 1 session. In saying that, it supposedly helps with minimising pore size , boosting collagen and helping clear acne hyperpigmentation. It's too early to tell how effective the treatment really is but i'll keep you updated as I undergo more treatments. Mind you , the treatment is quite expensive at $1000 New Zealand Dollars per session and they've reccomended I do atleast 3-5. At this point it's just a waiting game and hoping that It will make a considerable difference to make me feel satisfied that I got my moneys worth and to be satisfied that I made a worthy difference in taking initiative to combat my acne scarring.

UPDATE !!!!!!!

HI GUYS, It's been nearly a month since I posted and I've just had my second Picoway treatment today!

Honestly , If your acne scarring is pigmentation/pore size/textural , I honestly do think Picoway helps.
Obviously the changes aren't going to be as drastic as say , a C02 laser but in saying that , the benefit is that it's less risk. For me , its definitely worth the trade off. I would recommend it to people who want to play it safe and are in it for the long haul. The picoway laser from Candela to my knowledge is the most recent pico laser and it has 2 settings, one for pigmentation and one for acne scarring (I recommend going to a reputable dermatologist and asking and confirming if its the right laser). I think each treatment would help by 10-15% improvement so obviously it is cumulative and not necessarily cheap ($1000 NZD). However, if you're looking for a relatively safe treatment that is also effective then I would definitely recommend picoway laser. For me , I think it was the best option so I'm pleased with it.

Would rate it 3.6/5. Let me know if anyone has any questions or comments !  :D

P.S I'll attach some photos around a month and a half later so you guys can see and rate the visual improvements.
