So Ive had small white ish bumbs around my lips and chin for years now and never really paid them much attention but they slowly seem to be getting worse. Ive googled for hours and nothing I find seems to match what they look like. They are sore unless I try and squeeze them and then they usually get infected (yes I know I shouldnt squeeze them and I usually dont, and wont from now on)
ive included some pictures and wondered if anyone has the same or at least knows what it is. I dont think its Perioral dermatitis
Have you been tested by a dermatologist for microscopic demodex skin mites? 95-100% of adultsthem. The mites don't cause a problem unless they get overpopulated. They are a common cause of Rosacea Type 2 with papules and pustules (also known as demodicosis). The mitescommonly cause large blackheads, pustules (mite die offs), papules, irritated red eyes, ocular rosacea/blepharitis demodex, for some red skin. The mites eat skin oil and live and die on a 2 to 3 weeks cycle. The pustules occur when the mites die off and make the condition appear cyclical.
Other possibilities include bacterial acne, fungal acne or hormonal acne.
For demodex, there is a highly effective, cheap, 2 week, treatment with generic prescription Oral Ivermectin + Oral Metronidazole. Its documented as a Medical Study in the May 2013 International Journal of Infectious Diseases. The paper is here:
