CO2 laser vs Erbium laser?

what are the differences of these devices and why would a derm choose to use one over the other, providing they have both

Different wavelengths, different penetration. C02 laser is always ablative, meaning it removes skin and causes bleeding. With erbium, if I remember correctly it can be ablative or non-ablative. Ablative erbium removes skin but does not cause tissue contraction like co2 laser.

Generally, erbium is considered safer for ethnic skin because it doesn't cause as much aggressive hyperpigmentation.
