Benzoyl peroxide causing the malfunction in skin cells.

When I have a breakout I obsess over treating it. Pour on the benzoyl peroxide; for years. It seems to damage skin, kill skin cells (and bacteria)
So my hyper-adaptive skin responds with more skin cells, all being sent to the slaughter of chemical death, their carcasses clogging pores deep below the surface—creating a cycle.

I’ve had success with gently scrubbing (with a gentle loofah) with peppermint soap. If I must treat a breakout, i do with salicylic acid in liquid form—not lotion.
