question for when you only get acne in one area

Hi - I've been on the regimen now for about 2.5 weeks but I have a question as I continue to increase the amount of benzoyl peroxide I use. I only get acne in one area - my chin between my lower lip and jawline (any pimples on other parts of my face are very rare, almost always small, and almost always go away quickly). So my question is whether it's okay to use (proportionately) the recommended amount - so say about 1/5 of the length of my index finger - just on my problem area while using a lower, "maintenance" amount on the rest of my face or do I still need to work up to using the recommended amount for my entire face?
