SEPT 27/2019 - BLUNT CANNULA SUBCISION + DILUTED SCULPTRA W. DR. LEMCKERT

IMPROVEMENT GAUGED: A lot on one side..25-30% on the left side, 10% on right.

Yesterday, I had my first subcision & sculptra filler session with Dr. Lemckert in Hamilton, ON. It feels sooooo good to get the first one finally done, I've been waiting all month for it. It surprised me, how much personal satisfaction I got from hearing the sounds of many of my scar bands untethering....harmonious music to my ears. It was strangely very emotional empowering.

Dr. Lemckcert seems very knowledgeable to me. I made it well known, from my initial consult with him back in August, that I have done an excessive amount of research on atrophic acne scarring and I won't be investing in a laser treatment util i've had several subcisions. Even then, the laser would be useful for texture irregularities, not much else. I have had a lot of laser treatments done in the past and they have done only a modest improvement for my scarring.. like 5-10% after a dozen etwo type of thing. Nonetheless, I am happy he went very aggressively and did multi pass, as I had requested. I am really swollen but happy haha. IMG_20190928_160619.jpg.b89e28c2911c2926e41e20372403104c.jpgIMG_20190928_160606.jpg.4f5ff5c38cb6b8218ef634a0d12175e8.jpgIMG_20190928_160619.jpg.b89e28c2911c2926e41e20372403104c.jpg

He definitely broke up more bands on the left side of my face, which was more tethered than the right. Willpost more photos once the microswelling is done. After sculptra.. Am i supposed to massage my face to avoid lumps? Online it says yes but my after care instructions at the clinic didn't include that. Also, is it 10 weeks or 3 months until my next session of sculptra + subcision?

And will my next session treatment be the derminator, in a month?

@beautifulambition what can I do to maximize chances of bands not tethering again? Can i also do Chinese shopping even though i did sculptra

UPDATE DATE: 12/05/2019 TWO MONTHS POST SCULPTRA.

I definitely feel my scars have gotten more shallower than before, with the left side of my face showing a marked increase in improvement, besides for a stubborn broad box scar. My second subcision and sculptra is scheduled for Dec 20 and I will request again for aggressive subcision. Also have begun applying tretinoin 0.025 (only beginning 11/27) and am planning on asking for a prescription of adapalene gel 0.3.IMG_20191205_152018.jpg.1c4b2afedc4e69a28d89e1e5ddb283a7.jpgIMG_20191205_152006.jpg.3dceeeb663ebf2ca27fe69f315989e61.jpg

I'm interested in pursuing the same treatment with Dr. Lemckert in the future - glad to hear you had a positive first treatment experience! I'llbe following your journey with great interest.Best of luck!

Yes follow his aftercare instructions.

Am i supposed to massage my face to avoid lumps? - typically yes. Ask if you have any questions, as I did not inject it.

3 months is fine, ... That's 12 weeks. 10 is close enough. Observe, you know when to stop and when to go get more.

Yes one month post is fine.

You can Chinese Cup only to scars - spot treat... that are still atrophic 1 week post, don't go overly aggressive. If there is any complications stop immediately of course and discuss with your provider.

BA, I thought chinese cupping was for subs only not subs + sculptra is that still safe to do?

UPDATE: 10/23/2019 (almost four weeks since my first subcision + sculptra on 09/27)

LEVEL OF PERCEIVED IMPROVEMENT: 10-15%

I didn't feel it was right to post anything until at least a few weeks until my first session of sculptra + subcision as sculptra does not provide immediate results but takes a few months to begin stimulating collagen. Nonetheless, it has only been almost four weeks but my scars definitely seem smoother and shallower. I'm definitely a lot more content with the right side versus the left though.

I've booked my second subcision + sculptra for late December and will update after that treatment as well.

I have been doing suction as well but honestly have not been consistent at all...

Will probably book an etwo just to keep creating that friendly collagen stimulating environment haha.

Does DR. LEMCKERT use tangential lighting for subcision and sculptra? I live in Toronto and looking for a good doc for this treatment.

so far i have travelled to US to get subcision/ sculptra done, but a doc in Ontario will be awesome

He doesn't...but I should ask him to do it next time. He told me how he has adopted Mark Taylor's more aggressive method for subcision as well, for those interested, which surprised me as it is a riskier procedure

The before was taken last year this time, the after is this evening. This is the right side of my face. Scars look a lot shallower, am excited to see where I get to after a few more subcisions.

Here are pics I took today of each side of my face with the worst lighting I could get and the newest phone. Trying to keep this journey honest

left side: like I™ve said throughout the thread, I™ve definitely seen more improvement on this side so far02B2D1AC-EB7E-4B63-9D2D-7840046E404B.jpeg.d63990aa9e5965f53abc148c01df73d4.jpeg

right side of my face: things have improved from last year but less content with this side will be asking for aggressive subcision on 12/20

He quoted me $1500 CAD for each session of subcision + a vial of sculptra. There are cheaper doctors out there for subcision but I havent had a reason to go elsewhere yet

Side thought: IfI was American, would totally come to Canada for some subcision, what with the currency exchange and all that

Not a bad price at all!

With Rullan I was charged $2000 for subcision + vial of Sculptra. His prices were raised substantially this past year but I've been extremely happy with him.

BTW, great results!!

Update: 12/31/19 - 11 days post subcision #2 & Sculptra #2

to be frank, I wasnt as happy with my second subcision. Dr. lemckert commented on the visible improvement since my first session, but he did NOT do multi pass as I had requested. He DIDdo two incision points on the right side (as this is the side I was more unhappy with) but only one on the left. His reasoning was that the left seems untethered and didnt require a second incision point. Im not sure how valid this is? @beautifulambition

Further, upon finishing the procedure, I did see two unused syringes and I am not sure if there was sculptra in there or what.

for my third subcision, I am grappling with going to see Dr. Sajic for a consult or continuing with Dr. lemckcert. Dr. Sajicssecretary also quoted me cheaper prices versus Lemckert.

I will post photos soon. I have also been suctioning, at least one time daily. Even with having sculptra, I feel the suction helps keep things untethered

Generally doctors do 2 incision points with cannula subcision, one for the cheeks and one for temples. Does he use tangential lightning? if not, then he maynot be seeing all your scars. what gauge cannula did he use? how much did he diluted sculptra? 10 cc?

Does Dr Sajic also do sculptra with subcision?

Really? Last time Im pretty sure he did three incision points on each side of my face, totaling 6. Plus, this time he only did one incision point on the right side..

yeah, sajic also does subcision and sculptra. But after reading his google reviews (Some being kinda awful), Im not sure what my next steps should be.. if anyone has had treatment with Sajic please do chime in!

Happy new year :) Well depends on the doctor. I have been to Dr rullan in San diego twice, he covers cheeks and temples in 2 incisions per side.

Dr Weiner, who follows Dr lim also do 2 incisions per side as per his video on instagram:

It also depends on the depth of the scars and gauge of cannula. Shallow scars need 25G/ 26G cannula.

In canada, sometimes derms have bad reviews for medical conditions but good reviews for cosmetic treatments because medical is just OHIP covered. Does Dr Sajic have bad reviews for cosmetic treatments? Also how much he quoted you for subcision + sculptra? I recall you said $ 1500 from your current doc?

why do you want multiple incision points? wouldn't that just make a bunch more little puncture scars ? Also, did you get your temples / forehead done? I got my subcision / filler with him in dec as well. do not do tca cross...

try going to dr. benjamin barankin. He's in the biggest clinic in canada.

I live in toronto. Dr Barankin is crap. All he got is microneedling, profractional, TCA peel and Excel V for redness. He doesnt do any treatment himself.

Has anyone tried Dr Sajic in Guelph?
