Scar severity and treatment?

Hi, so I've recently been able to clear my acne by using Epiduo. Now I'm left with scars that I would like to improve. They bother me every single day and I'm constantly worrying about them. It's partly a mental thing, I know, so I'm working on that. However, I would like to do what I can to start improving my scars. I've previously done two Matrix RF sessions and between break outs I've been microneedeling at home with a 0,5 mm stamp these past four months. I've seen a little improvement.

I would like to get some advice on what kind of scarring I have, how severe it is and what treatments I should be doing. The redness isn't really bothering me and it's gradually fading.

I'm 23, I live in Denmark (so I will probably be seeing Dr. Emil Henningsen for treatments) and my scars are less than 11 months old. I use Epiduo nightly, use products with vitamin c morning and night, I do AHA/BHA chemical exfoliation 1-2 times at week, moisturize, wear spf 50 every day and I microneedle every 14 days or so. Suggestion for changes in skincare are also welcome.

Thank you so much.

@JohanneBech

Thanks you for including your picture and background info that is helpful 😉

You have:
Mainly textural scarring, some rolling scars, and box cars, ... in some of those pictures the biggest issue I see is hyperpigmentation. I would work on that PIE(redness) so your skin color is uniform. Some things to help with the slow process of healing from PIE are peels for hyperpigmentation, niacinamide, retinoid( I see your using that above) vitamin c serum, and of course if acne is still there getting that under control before starting treatment so things don't get worse. I would not exfoliate with AHA and BHA this does not adress your issue and Emil has pulse dye laser for your PIE.Subcision will help you a lot on your cheeks as well.

We don't do rf needling while there are active break outs or we will be chasing ongoing issues, manual methods always first. Your Close to Dr Emil go see him for your scars.

** Please Note I offer to acne scar suffers a "more" "customized" (private) consultation than the above general advice. Analysis, answering questions, ongoing support by Private Messaging. Feel free to message me there. Be patient as I can get over 100+ of the worst acne scar cases to help, it "may" take me up to 48 hours to respond.

Checkout the main scar treatments sub, find the FAQ pinned on top there, goto the bottom, there are Dr's or call around and ask who does cannula subcision or nokor subcision (needle type) to dermatologists and or plastic surgeons, consult a few before you decide who you like, even if you have to pay as treatment is expensive, better like them. Ask how many subcisions they do a month and if they treat your skin type. If they just do laser run they will just blast you and not solve your issue.
