Hello to the whole acne.org community

I'm new to the forum and I wanted to thank you for this great site and all the testimonials that give hope and morale to many people.

I am posting this message today because I will need a notification please. Indeed, I am desperate because of my acne scars that obsess me and ruin my life.

I made several superficial peels that did nothing because too superficial, a laser session Fraxel that has not given anything and recently I had a session of dermapen. I saw several dermatologists in France (I live in France) who offered me, among other things, fraxel laser and superficial peels. Many do not want to do more because I have matte skin (I am Indian and I have a phototype 4 I would say).

I went to Belgium to see a dermatologist hoping to have a subcision but he told me not to want to do it on me and he told me that the best is to do nothing. Or to do laser co2 but he told me he would not do it on me because there is a high risk of having hyperpigmentation tasks.

I am really lost and I would like to continue doing treatments because I do not accept these scars. I am realistic I know that I would never have a perfect skin, but I would like to improve them.

Currently I think I will continue on the path of the Dermapen, because it is one of the only solutions available to me at the moment and perhaps to do radio frequency fractional. I will post pictures regularly if I get results. I am attaching photos of my current state (sorry for the quality).

Can you advise me on a skincare plan that could be considered for my skin type and my scars please? In France, there are not many specialists who deal with ethnic skin to my regret.

Ps: I apologize for my English which is not very good, I hope you will succeed in understanding me.

@Lili72Hi Lili if you obsess over your acne scars and they ruin your day it would be best to get a therapist. Talkspace on the smartphone offers unlimited therapy, the biggest issue internal scars that acne scars also cause and are the hardest thing to deal with.

You have lots of boxcars, icepicks, a few rolling surface scars, and hyperpigmentation.

Dr Emil is a cheap flight/train away would be best for you to see for this. But there are also Dr's in France, as part of your insurance I believe laser is covered for scars, ... many of the Dr's either do CO2 laser or punch excision in France for boxcars. They don't do the manual methods first which the top Dr's do.

Superficial peels alone will not fix this issue, Fraxel is too superficial for box cars, Dermapen is dermastamping and can be done at home monthly alternating with glycolic peels between your Dr sessions which are every 3 months or more.

** Please Note I offer to acne scar suffers a "more" "customized" (private) consultation than the above general advice. Analysis, answering questions, ongoing support by Private Messaging. Feel free to message me there. Be patient as I can get over 100+ of the worst acne scar cases to help, it "may" take me up to 48 hours to respond.

Checkout the main scar treatments sub, find the FAQ pinned on top there, goto the bottom, there are Dr's or call around and ask who does cannula subcision or nokor subcision (needle type) to dermatologists and or plastic surgeons, consult a few before you decide who you like, even if you have to pay as treatment is expensive, better like them. Ask how many subcisions they do a month and if they treat your skin type. If they just do laser run they will just blast you and not solve your issue.

Lili, may I ask what Dr did you see in Belgium? M.Bernard? He also said that Sub was not for me and offered co2 saying max 30% poss improvement. I am faired skin pho type 2.Also I have seen more Drs, all they had offered lasers and had no idea about Sub and cross. Really tried all main dermatological clinicsand main hospitals in Brussels. Most of them were just not interested, the others said to do nothing or glycolic peelings. At the end I did several lasers with no success at all. I am currently at the process with dr.Emil, you can read the thread Dr.Emil Denmark reviews or write to me.

Hello Sibel, yes it is this dermatologist that I saw in Belgium. I chose it because I know it has a good ethic. He advised me to do nothing because with my ethnic skin I have a risk of hyperpigmentation. He told me that one of the best solutions in my case was the Co2 laser and he redirected me to a colleague specializing in lasers in France, in case if I wanted to do a co2 laser session. He was honest with me and told me to think carefully.
I'm a bit like you, I saw a lot of dermatologists in France and they offered me only superficial peels, fractional lasers, erbium or radiofrequency but no one is interested in the subissions or the TCA cross. In any case, not those I saw. For now, I do not dare to do lasers. My biggest complex are the boxcars and I do not know what to do in the meantime ...
I would like to go see Dr. Emil or Dr. Anil, but I have to wait a little longer and save. I will be delighted to follow your journey with these doctors. I wish you great improvements :-).
