I had read on his website that he did subcision tca filler then laser but when we went to see him he went straight to CO2 a permanent filler (bellafill) TCA Cross I feel terrible because i should have some more research I was sold by him trusted him and now Im scared my son cant get subcision. We plan to see Dr Rullan does anyone know if he accepts care credit? Ok sorry my original question is can you do subcision after bellafill?

@Blanca01Sadly I hear this often with Dr Emer, I don't recommend him if you look at the FAQ, pinned to the main scar treatments sub, then goto the bottom there and find Los Angeles, you can read more.

He has done this to many patients, it's a factory. Not for your own customized(the plan) good, but quick $$$$$. We aren't made to do 5 things at once, nor does our body heal like this. It's always sad when patients come out worse than what they paid to improve. Also with Bellafill permanent filler = permanent problems, I have so many contacting me with issues. They don't realize you need 10 sessions or so to get any volume with the filler, also it can migrate, is not reversible, and can grow bacteria. He told one of his patients who recently had a reaction, oh you need surgery, I can't see you anymore, go find a occuoplastic who will remove it ;-/ I say do something like a HA filler first and see if you like it before going down that road after a few times.Emer is a inject it when they walk in $$$$$$ Dr. You should be fine with one time, yes see Rullan.

You should be fine to see Dr Rullan, just let him know you had a session of Bellafill with Emer. Do the standard manual treatments package with him, several times. At least 3 months apart. He can do filler there, or you can have it closer to where you live after sub.

Thank you for your reply it really broke my heart that there are so many money hungry Drs like Jason Emer he calls himself a burn and acne scar specialist. I was so hopeful. I am soooo glad I started reading about all the treatments people have had and the success stories. We were scheduled to have more lasers with him :( I™m so happy that we can use that money to see Dr Rullan. This is a difficult and painful journey thank you for your support.

@Blanca01Don't feel down, ... you have a option now, Dr Rullan is a rather good one , patients travel to see him 😉

Dr Emer is not a burn specialist or a acne scar specialist It is sad when Lim had a ""quick"" training with him(you can't train someone in everything - my opinion) as I have to deal with so many angry people now who have botched procedures and feel misled. If you want Lim, goto Lim, there are no substitutes.

The mindset of care is worse than the procedures. He is excellent at marketing and razzle dazzle Hollywood production team and a team to handle his social media presence - sales, ...but with actual patients no. His specialty is 60K+ Liposuction on guys / girls that are models already.

This is a general comment to teach anyone reading. When you see a Dr ask how many acne scar patients do you see a month and a week, ask what treatments will you be doing on me during the consult and instead of doing them go home and research(or they will go in for the quick sale), ask for pics(but in Emer's case he uses touched up photos by a media team). He even pays to have excellent reviews and bad one's deleted. Sadly these derms who think they are superstars care very little about the patient and more about themselves / speaking fees/ and free devices to push on you they endorse. IF a Dr pushes 5 things at once -bad, if they don't believe in manual methods first and instead just laser you - bad, if they spend excessive time filming social media promos and larger than life marketing - bad. If they are a expert at everything, ... find out what they really specialize in, ... if you see on his social media 70% is about liposuction, that is the clue. I always tell patients go see 3 Dermatologists and some plastics, pick the ones you feel are best. Even if you have to pay for consults, acne scar treatment is expensive, better to be sure right. Bellafill + Many Laser(s) will not fix your scars in one session. Many treat over 3 years and have several sessions, spaced out 3 months apart with a good Dr, healing is not instant. It mainly relies on how you heal, ... treatments are variable, and some things might not work for you.

He did CO2 laser and then Bellafill? Did I read that correctly? That's insane! And this makes me angry hearing people paying top dollar for substandard results.

Jason Emer is a scam artist. The guy should have his medical license revoked for what he's doing. I don't consider him a real doctor as he's purely a salesperson that pushes products on people that can permanently disfigure someone. I think his past patients need to step up and file complaints to the California Medical Board, and maybe they'll put a stop to this predator.
