HELP-SCAB fell off-prematurely?

Recommended Posts

Oh oh.............my huge zit which had been healing....produced a scab on Saturday. It was there for the next 5 days..until today. While I was

sort of looking at my face, touching another part, it came off! But there is

still a slight BUMP on it, meaning it hasn't completely healed!!

So I immediately put some EMU OIL on it.

What else can I do to prevent scarring??

SHIT!!!

Goop some neosporin on it. It will protect the raw skin and kill any bacteria on the surface. Someone mentioned in another thread that Neosporin also prevents the overgrowth of collagen/scarring... but I'm not sure about that.

There is no need to worry about killing bacteria when a wound is already closed and the scab is even gone. It would only block pores, so it doesn't seem logical, imho. OursFan's advice makes more sense.

Note the subject line, though. Sart said that the scab fell off PREMATURELY. If the scab fell off prematurely then the wound is most likely not closed...

The wound may still be open and even a bit bloody at the spot where the scab detached/ripped off.
