Severe body acne scars.

So I've been suffering from acne for about 2 years now, mostly cystic acne on my chest, back and face. I've always refused taking accutane because of it's side effects, so I'm curing my acne with some supplements and Benzoyl peroxide + Clindamycine. My face got cleared up, I get some small pimples from time to time, chest is almost clear with a bit of acne, and back has a bit more but it's mostly scars. Basically my situation isn't very nice, but it's 95% scars for now, not a lot of active acne (at least not a lot for me).

I'm wondering how I could treat these, there are some raised scars but not that many. Any suggestions?

I have body scars too. You need lots of subcision, looks like mostly indented scarring not keloid. Areas to treat are extensive, you might look into the Liberator Tool to swipe large swaths, single needles doesnt seem practical in ur case.

@whoopHi there.

You have keloid scarring. I made a whole section inthe FAQ, pinned at the top of scar treatments, find hypertrophic and keloid scarring. Lots of treatment options. NO you do not do Taylor Liberator on the body. Body scars are harder to treat than acne scars on the face,. Theskin is thicker, less vascular and heals poorly. I have seen co2 laser with a steriod drip used for this, rf needling and nokor subcision. Other treatments are silicone patches, cryotherapy, Vascular laser for all the red PIE. I would see someone who has extensive experience with body acne scars like Dr Lim in Australia. You can also post on realself.comfor free if you wish, ... ask for advice with your body keloid acne scars and post the pictures. It will be a long process and mainly involve laser. The red's I would target most from hyperpigmentation - vascular laser.

Don't get too discouraged. I have similar scarring and my "plan A" is flatten things out then get tattoos like these

@whoopI feel your pain. I have had the same type of acne and scars on my chest and back. The scars on my chest did kind of flatten out better over the years.

Hi.

I really, really feel you. I have a very similar situation that you have with my acne(actually worse because I have more scars on my chest and shoulders than you have) I refused accutane for too long I guess, and now I am absolutely fucked for life, since most of these scars will probably never go away. My chest, shoulders and back are absolutely filled with all types of scars: boxcar, rolling, hyperpigmentation, you name it. I haven't taken my shirt off in public places for years now, which means I haven't been swimming for a long time either. It's quite depressing sometimes, but I still have tried to enjoy my life and live it to the fullest with those little restrictions.

Anyways, I wish you all the best, and I would really like to hear from you later on. Good luck battling acne, it is a tough son of a bitch. You are not alone.
