Feeling sad and depressed, is there any treatment powerful against it? (pics)

Recommended Posts

Hi, im here looking for a advice for my nose bumps, i think i already have tried everything, i already did 3 co2 sessions, needling, peels, glycolyc, salycilic, nothing seems to make this bump flat again.

i just wanted my nose to be flat again, i saw tons of photos on the internet of much worse cases such rhynophyma turning perfect that made me think that my case wasnt that hard to treat.

i know my case isnt that severe but still affect mt pretty much, specially because the photos dont show how bad it looks like in front of the mirror it looks way more proeminent and worse than the photos.

@ajaxz The treatments you did were not the right thing for this. The nose is not like the other skin on the face. It's cartilage like the ears.

Thus You would need a combo of co2 laser and erbium laser resurfacing. Or Aggressive electro surgery to level it out.

Steroid injections are often done if it feels like a keloid.

"i saw tons of photos on the internet of much worse cases such rhynophyma" - cool that means your Dr was not qualified to do the procedure or not aggressive enough. It is hard to treat it requires a competent suergon who treats rhynophyma.

Please see a few Dermatologists and or plastic surgeon's pick the one with the best feeling who has experience doing this.

Thanks BA, by the photos do you think is it possible to achieve very good results and make it flat?

Call the dermatology schools there in Brazil. Brazil is known for plastic surgery, so find a plastic who does nose jobs and is familiar with the anatomy of the nose.

So, i went to one different dermatologist and one surgeon, both of them refused to treat my condition.

one of them simple looked and said he wasnt going to remove.
the other said it was a small sebaceous hyperplasia and wasnt worth it to cut it and cause scarring

So im completely lost here. I came to a conclusion that brazil is one of the worst places to take care of your acne/scars. The surgeons and dermatologists here just want to do procedures like botox, silicone, buttlifts  and that sort of thing. They usually dont give a shit about acne scars since its hard to treat and probably not that profitable for them.

I know my condition isnt that had to treat with a good Doctor and i know it can be easily removed without damaging the tissue. But i dont believe i would find a good professional here, again, because there isnt any specialist in acne scars here in Brazil, only doctors that want to profit over easy procedures.

I know that if i only had a chance to get a procedure with Dr Lim for example, even if my resulst werent perfect, which i dont expect, i know that i would be able to achieve excellent results.

Is there any chance that i could get improvement of this condition myself BA? If i stamp it with a 2.0mm needles there is chance to improve?

I also read a paper talking about TCA peel in treatment of rhinophyma http://www.surgicalcosmetic.org.br/detalhe-artigo/364/Rinofima--tratamento-pratico-e-seguro-com-acido-tricloroacetico

@ajaxz Your pictures are hard to clearly make out above (blurry). Is it a small pit on the nose. You could try something like Subcision if it is depressed with a bit of filler. A peel to the border of the scar to soften it. But the nose is notorious for not healing properly, being hard to treat, ... does not regenerate like the facial skin as it's cartilage ( like a ear).

But sure you can try a few peels on it. Be aware it may open up pores so only to the scar area, and I would just try the scar border first, ... no drips to anywhere else. You may dermastamp it as well.

Yes I would imagine your not dinging the best Dr's there. But there are some good plastic surgeons I am sure. Brazilian butt lift is a thing.

Lim would use lasers on it to soften the border and smooth out the transition.

I am so hesitant to tell you to do anything your self. This is the one area people complain the most when they try something. So if you do go slow, dermastamp, then the next month do a peel to just the border transition. If it's not working see a laser dermatologist and have them smooth it out. If you need some filler ask for it from them.

The first picture is a bump on nose, its there for years, i dont care much about the pores, i think everyone has them, mines arent that bigger, are kinda average normal. what bothers me is the small bumpy areas, i just wanted to make them flat. Sorry about the photos, the quality isnt given a very good perspective to judge because the quality of the camera is kinda poor, i will try to find another way to bring better photos
i would love to have a recommendation about a Lim/Novack/Chu like doctors in Brazil, but i think it will never happen. I couldnt never find a good skilled doctor that is a acne scar specialist, even in Realself, it looks like we are years and years behind the rest of the world in terms of acne manegement. People here usually like to take advantage from others suffering, so, is very very hard to see someone competent willing to take care of one concern that isnt very profitable for them.

@ajaxz Hi there, ... yes it was unclear, was thinking a pit. For a bump. This post is in the wrong section. See the hypertrophic scar section top of scar treatments sub. The Dr would inject with over dilute steriod to flatten the bump. Then they would use a laser for resurfacing. Another option they use instead is electro surgery and scrape it off. Look into silicone scar patches and wear them often to help with the bump. If it's a hypertrophic scar. If it's a cyst it must be excised.

Look into the condition as you said of  rhinophyma on the nose.

Real Self is a American based site. I am sure you have something native to your country and it's reviews. Many Drs in foreign countries use Twitter and Instagram or facebook. You need a dermatological surgeon or a plastic surgeon. Many general derm's won't touch it. A plastic could take care of this discuss rhinophyma, or sebaceous hyperplasia and laser / steriod treatment.

I will keep searching, but i cant spend more thousands on doctors that dont even know how to treat it. So inbetween i will try to needle it and look for another treatments i can do at home. thank you very much for your help, any advice is welcome.

I used silicone patches for 2 years now, every day, on my nose without sucess. I probably saw every rhinophyma video so i can get a tip of how i can advice any doctor to treat it, but they dont want to mess with it. i tried to use clobetasol which i think is the strongest corticosteroid, with a silicone patch dressing it for months to try create a atrophy in the hypertrophic area, no sucess, the lasers help, but unfortunately the results are kinda poor, maybe if the laser frequency could be stronger the outcome woud be better. I always feel i need something stronger when i do anything regarding these scars

@ajaxz I get this question all the time. It's the aggressiveness of the providers treatment, possibly a poor treating Dr with little experience, or it has not had enough treatments and again this area heals terribly as it's cartilidge.

If they do electrosurgery and scrape it off you can bet it will come off, but there is a possibility of scarring and laser is often done afterwards. Some Dr's just use steriod injections and laser and have great results. It may be your location or providers. Silicone patches sound in your case like they will not help the scar tissue go down until you begin treatment.

No treatment will cure this at home, ... peels, needling, etc. For some it can create new hypertrophic scars by needling the area.

You don't want any Dr to do this you want someone with experience. As such find a provider who are in those videos you watch for rhinophyma and have success and goto them.

Yeah, i made a big mistake yesterday, my mom had a dermatologist for her allergy problem, then invited me to come with her to see if she could do something to my nose, well, she refused aswell to do something cause she said it was not that visible and wasnt so big to inject steroid there. I bet she never treated a single acne scar patient in her whole life.

@ajaxz Sorry about that. I don't think that is a mistake. She just sounds like a general derm who does not do cosmetic procedures. Sadly I have a few others in Brazil who get told not to do anything quite often unless paying for treatment. You will probably have to pay for someone sympathetic to your treatment goals. See a few Dr's for consult who are in aesthetic  procedures and see what they say. You may post this on RealSelf with a photo for free. But be prepared they cannot help based on location and the Dr's you have around you, just generalized info.
