Ive been a lurker here ever since and i am contemplating alot doing subcision for i heard this is the most effective way of treating rolling scars. And just today, this very day i went to a certified doctor to do for me. This is my acne scars before subcision, very prominent, deep and fugly-
this irregularities on my skin is taking a toll on my self confidence for 5 years, when i treated my all my acne with benzoyle peroxide, this is the aftermath and i cant stand it anymore. Anyways here is the result after the subcision.
So heres my final verdict. Doctor that i went to is very nice and polite. But he didnt sub all of my scars, he told me that he will do the deepest of my scars first on both of my cheeks and this is the result, still fugly. I think its not worth for my 500 sgd. i thought he will do my whole face. Anyways, I stongly believe in the power of subcision and i will do updates here once swelling and bruising will be healed.
PLS. DONT DO LASERS IF YOU HAVE SAME TYPE OF SCAR AS ME. DR. TOLD ME LASERS WONT DO ANYTHING FOR DEEP SCARS. SUBCISION IT IS.

doctor didnt say anything, except for no alcohol, no smoking no hot drinks, no make up for 24 hours and he gave me topical antibiotics after, no suction was advised by the doctor but i heard its more effective with suctioning. may i know why do you think cannot apply? so far nothing unusual happened @AcnePwns. maybe next time ill try sub with fillers.
I think your doctor is doing the right thing. You want to go slowly. We've all seen people on here who are so desperate to get all their scars treated in one session end up with problems. It's a long process, so be patient or risk making hasty decisions.
He also seems honest because he is not pushing lasers on you. Lasers don't do jack for rolling scars. They're useless except for softening sharp edged boxcar scars.

@dazzedi think you are right, maybe im just so obssessed and thibking about having clearer skin is consuming me. yeah im hoping for the best thanks though. Actually, he advised me subcision and tca cross and INFINI afterward which costs way more than the sum of the 1st 2 procedure lol. Anyways i will never go for lasers till my acne scars become shallow. i opt erbium lasers among the rest of availabl lasers.

Hello im back for my update 1 week post sub, i can say that there is at least 50% improvement. the swelling has totally gone down and the pit is visible again but i guarantee thay its way more shallower than pre sub. I heal very well btw. Im planning to do next sub next month.
can anyone advice me treatment for my shallower scars? to smoothen out my skin? is it still possible for me to have my baby skin back? i can go for lasers or peels if anyone can vouch for its effectiveness for the type of scar im having. Sorry for my english
@abraxas21Cannular subcision by a skilled Dr who knows anatomy yes. Otherwise Most Dr's will not touch the temples or forehead, one can go blind or other issues here with overly aggressive sub. The first rule is to know the anatomy, and sadly many Drs don't now this well either unless they are familiar with scars. They can always use a normal needle as well to spot treat the scar. Vascularity, muscles, etc is problematic here.Filler is a issue, saline or prp is fine.

WHAT. WTF I did not know that. My doctor went aggressive enough to create purple bruising at the corners of my eyes! What other issues/risks can occur with this area? Other than the bruising I have not experienced any issues.

i've tried Fraxel with minimal results (Asian skin so can't go hard with it). I tried light therapy at my dermatologist years ago as well as a home light device...meh.
@aspirinThat is completely normal what your Dr did. It was a warning for those who try things with un-experienced Drs or even those who dabble doing these things at home. Brusing is part of subcision, this happens normally. It does away in a few weeks.
Light therapy is not effective. Subcision, TCA cross, peels, some laser, rf needling are.
hi im back i think this is the 2nd week post sub too early to finalize but im just estatic seeing my face starting to fill up the ugly pits on its own, thanks to collagen, btw im 28 so, because i thought i read somewhere here that age is one of the factors for collagen to work, well u know what i mean, that the younger you are the more chances of broken collagen to re-produce?? yeah correct me if im wrong. anyway you can pm me for questions and ill be happy to help!
And yes subcision is the most effective for me, and bruising is just common and nothing to worry about, the truth is i love having a bruise because it temporarily raising up the pits after sub, you wont like the purple color in your face but a cover up with a concealer will do and youre good to go!
Anyways here is my lastest pic that i took after i woke up today, with iphone camera front cam, no filters or whatsoever, and im under a fluorescent light. Its not perfect but its like a 70-ish% improvement for me!Ill still update after a month and lets see.
