Question for a "newbie"

Recommended Posts

I have been on Tetracycline and Retin-A, which have been the only things (so far) that have helped my acne. I am a female and didn't develop acne until my early 20s.

I just began The Regimen (thought I'd try it before my new prescription for the above meds is filled), and I have two questions:

1. Since my face is used to Retin-A, is it okay to begin with the full dosage/application of bp NOW, in my 1st week, or should I still start out small and work my way up?

2. Would it be okay to use bp only for my 1st application, and then use Retin-A at night before bedtime?

1. No, start slowly with the bp. Your skin is used to tretinoin, which is completely different than bp.

2. You're not doing the regimen if you use Retin-A. The regimen's main points are: 1) kill the bacteria with bp; and 2) avoid any other irritating products. Retin-A would be one of those irritating products.

The only way to find out if the regimen works for you is to read the instructions and watch the video very carefully, and then follow all steps for 2-3 months. Just curious- if your current regimen is working well for you, why switch? Are you looking for something cheaper?
