I need reassurance... (adepolene/differin journey)

So I've been on adepolene .1% gel 4 weeks, with the fifth week starting today. So in total, a month. My skin is honestly a nightmare and I am so upset. I went from having pretty much perfect skin to full blown acne. The reason I started it was because of some closed comedones that were only noticeable to myself, from a stressful few months in my life. Now I have to say i completely regret this decision and I know its supposed to take time but I don't know when to stop. I'm studying abroad in a week and I'm so upset I'm going to be starting this journey with a face full of acne... I dont even recognize myself. Should I give up? When will this stop?

As a side note- since I never really had much acne, the makeup I own doesn't cover anything (bare minerals). Not sure what to do, don't know a lot about makeup and acne.

When I first began getting breakouts, I was horrified. I was a skin care freak and constantly making sure I took care of my skin. I followed the 10 step korean skin care routine and was very very very devoted to skincare. I would usually not get breakouts because my skin was very good, but there would occasionally be a small whitehead or teo because I am a teenager and I have hormones. I am a frequent user of makeup, but I always washed it off properly and I have never slept with makeup on. All in all, I was obsessed with my face.

when acne hit me, it was very sudden. I was going through extremely difficult timess and I guess the stress built up on my face. One week i had clear skin, and the next week I didnt. It started getting pretty bad but i didnt think about going to a dermatologist because I had a super busy schedule.

I stuck through the differin even though half way I really thought everything looked terrible. I hated my face and wearing makeup did not look good any more. It has officially been three months and I can confidently say I am 100% pimple free. Just stay strong, it gets better.

During the time I was on differin, I was also prescribed an antibiotic and a facial wash that had antibiotics in it.

For makeup, I would strongly suggest tou stay away from foundation. Although I am a makeup enthusiast, using foundation did not fool ANYONE that I did nt have acne. Instead, what i did was put a lot of drama towards either my eyebrows, eyes and/or lips. Completely your choice though. There are tons of youtubers who use makeup to cover up their acne and you can search them up.

Pictures are shown in order from before acne, acne before treatment, acne getting worse during treatment and my skin right now. All pictures were taken on snapchat so theres no photoshop or editing involved.

Thank you so much for this I really needed the reassurance because I was honestly pretty close to quitting the differin. i'm in a similar situation to you a stressful time triggered this acne but as you said I guess I just have to keep pushing through! Im on week 7 this Monday so hopefully things will be turning around. Thank you and I'm so glad it worked out for you! Your skin looks great!

Did your pores show up after purging came to an end?? How many days it took for the pores to close and what remedy did you use?
