What can I use to fix these scars?

Recommended Posts

Hello, guys

What do you recommend me for these scars? I stopped Accutane on November 2017 after a successful year of taking 1 daily pill. Thank God and science that medicine cured me but it left me this.

From the beginning of my treatment in November 2016 to this day, I have been using Synderm Loción, which is a soap free cleanser to wash your face, and Afelious Oil Free, which is an oil free sunscreen.

Thank you.

Looks like you mainly have box cars and rolling scars. They are mainly textural. Not to deep.

I would suggest you do Nokor subcision for the deeper pits and cannula filling aka cannula subcision for the more superficial ones. (Items that can be used with subcision: Chinese cupping - amazon works for some / cheapest, HA filler, saline, or prp as a spacer) . You need 3 of them spaced 3 months apart or if you get filler whenever the filler runs out.

I see RF microneedling helping you and you need 3 treatments spaced 3 months apart (several brands), ... you can do this in between subcision while waiting for the filler to run out.

Because you have ethnic skin I would most likely not recommend deep peels after that for texture. I would get erbium resurfacing by a Dr familiar with your skin type, ... you must prep your skin with retin a / tretinorin and hydroquinone for 3 weeks before, and a week break before the procedure. You may need a few as they will be more sensitive with your skin type on settings.

Picosure is also a great laser for your PIE or discoloration and that is optional (can be tried before resurfacing if you wish or after depending on budget and what concerns you).

If your doing at home DIY I recommend getting a derminator it's a microneedling machine and doing that monthly with a few diluted TCA peels (prep again as stated before for your skin type), subcision can also be cheap with DIY. Read the FAQ below for more info especially the peel section, and subcision.

@beautifulambition  You have given me a ton of good advice and I think I'm getting my first procedure done in about 2-4 weeks to get the journey started.  Can you get good results from cannula+filler alone?  I have one or two deep scars on my cheeks that I think will 100% be done with Nokor.  On the other hand I have a TON of more superficial ones on my temples that I'll probably feel more comfortable getting it done with cannula.

I found someone local who I can have full face subcision + filler done cheap (like 2-300 for the subcision + 600-900 ish for the filler).  She seems EXTREMELY honest and knowledgable so I figured why not at least try.   Do you think cannula + filler can have good results alone on the temples?  I apoligize for the repeated questions, I'm just trying to get a baseline of what I should ask in my consultation.

Think of the Skin in 3D. There are various layers, functions, and anatomical landmarks (X/Y Axis).

To relate you cannot rely on a single treatment for improvement. Yes you may be happy with the results and stop everything else but not give you the (full benefit you could receive). This is a personal choice of course.

Good your getting Nokor and Cannula Filler aka Cannula Subcision. Please make sure she is aggressive in the area (cannula in and out many times). I have seen some people with issue here so not too much filler or it can create lumps (temples - thin skin). RF microneedling also helps in conjunction especially in the temples. Peels for texture or erbium.

It's worth a try, cheap is not always the best but can be good for function ie. cannula filler. I would give her a shot if you so dare (expert injector). Nokor I would get from a more experienced professional. They both work differently.

Cannula and filler alone in the temple's don't seem to be enough without RF Microneedling in my experience. But worth a go and see how your body responds.

To recap I don't think anything "aloe" will solve scars problems. IT's a combo of one's healing capabilities, their individual concerns and scar type, and what they can afford / are willing to do - w/ down time. Start with this and use the other tools you know if you need more.

@beautifulambition  Thank you.  She also does Intensif but I have found Omar Ibrahimi in Stanford who is apparently one of the best with Infini.  He's similar to Dr. Weiner with experience as far as I know.   I will see what she says (possibly a package of some sort - maybe like a few sub/filler + intensif).  If that doesn't work I'll prly do 1 sub + filler with her then go do the infini with Dr Ibrahimi.  Do you think something like sub + filler then every 3 months get an infini treatment?  Do that then reup on the subcision + filler in a year?  Sorry for loading you with questions again lol.

@beautifulambition  Thank you.  I will definitely update with honest reviews for both doctors once I get treatments.  I'm going to shanthala MD in Northern Mass for the subcision.  She seems very honest and caring so I'll update you guys with a thorough review.  I know there aren't many options for subcision in the Boston area so if she does a good job I will let you know and you can add her in.

i havw had a consult with Dr Obrahmi about a year back. He is good with energy based devices..Infini and lasers. Reason i didnt pick him was because he doesnt do subcision or TCA CROSS, so he is not a true acne scar specialist.

Your scars are not severe. Before getting any treatments, I just want you to know it. You don't need to feel depressed.

I have similar type of scars but mines are much deeper and broader. And my scars are everywhere on my face. I got 4 treatments of erbium:yag, fraxel repair. But they worsened my scars so badly. They merged neighbor scars which made my scars bigger like coin size. I am also looking for correct treatments. As I have researched so far, this kinda scarring would require subcision, RF microneedling combined with PRP. Please visit the dermatologists, not the aesthetic clinics. I think it is the most important.

I really hope you see great improvement. And you will :)
