Hello, i am new to this forum and this whole acne treatments stuff. Been having this scars for years and thinking of doing something to eliminate it

what type of scars do i have and what is the suggested treatment? I am thinking of laser initially but am worried after seeing so many disatisfaction and bad reviews.

Thank you and sorry for the bad pictures

You mostly have mild boxcar/rolling scars and you have pretty wide latitude of treatment options. Chemical peels like TCA, radiofrequency (RF) microneedling like Infini, as well as spot treating with ablative laser resurfacing could all work. However, we always like to suggest you fill the pothole before you repave the road. So it would be ideal that you get treatments to first fill the cavity and then sand the top layer. Microneedling, be it manual or RF based, works on under the skin to build collagen, whereas chemical peels and lasers are more for resurfacing.

If you're new to all this, I highly encourage you to take the time to read up on these treatments before taking the plunge. This will not only help you to coordinate better treatment plans with your doc, it will save you money and time.

Thanks alot for the information,

Booked an appointment with doctor for consultation at the end of the month

In the meantime, do using products help to fade these scars?? Do i need to get glycolic acid/salicylic or both??

Had just bought some vit c serum and retinoid cream but not sure about those 2 acids

Looks like you might be skin 3 type of beyond since you say you are asian.
I would be careful with TCA and do a test spot first. I have ethnic skin type similar and TCA can leave spots if not done correctly, but it should help.
