Trying to figure out a strategy for finding the right doctor - having trouble. Has anyone ever treated with Jeffrey rapaport in NJ?

He's local to me and experience butthe reviews of him are all over the place.

Yes, this Specialist is a true gentleman. If you look at his replies on certain forums his method of scar revision is always bespoke - namely he is the old fashioned subcision over 'package sell' laser- microneedling. His answers are honest, and his knowledge is up there with the best. As for reviews, a specialist with a 95-100 % 5 star rating is somewhat questionable. Why? Because unhappy patientd or those with a lack of insight will always give bad reviews. You are dealing with a medical problem that has been stigmatised in to a cosmetic and service industry. Question is.... who would you see, a doctor with a 100% satisfaction rate, or one with a 80-90 % satisfaction rate who chooses to leave bad reviews. This real life rating is to acknowledge patients are seeing him or her for a medical treatment, and in reality, not everyone is satisfied with the 'services provided'. I have never met him, but his thought processes and intentions are for the good of the patient. These are my thoughts on Novic and Jeff Rapport, please share your opinions or experiences.

I've talked to him a few times and I like him. The only reason I chose Dr. Novick over him is because Rappaport likes to use energy devices I didn't want.

Thanks everyone. This is helpful. I'll likely schedule a consult. It helps that it's free. Nothing to lose.

@QuanHenry- what is it that makes you hesitant about energy decides such as infini etc?

@Anonymous432He is saying that he feels he would suggest laser over subcision, filler, etc... As he is into energy devices. He may be fine. It's a free consult. Just control what you want to do and what you won't do. I would not start with the laser sale first before you try subcision, filler, and rf microneedling is much better than laser. Peels can be better than resurfacing at the end as they have less side effects. I would think Rappaport does laser resurfacing. You don't have to do "everything" he says to do, you choose.

I know that he used to do subcision and fraxel at the same time, but I guess he moved on to infini (which is a good sign). Like BA said, you don't have to do exactly what he says, and the consult is free so you can discuss your opinions with him then.

I had fraxel in the past with little improvement and maybe some fat loss, so I only wanted to do subcision. Rappaport still seems like a good option from his internet impression. The fact that he stopped using a debunked device in favor of a newer, more promising one is great. Most doctors would cling to the machine and try to get as much money out of it as possible. I get the impression that he is really after results.
