EU rules - no cheap BP at chemists (uk)

Recommended Posts

i was just about to post a comment about the fact that you can not seem to buy any cheap (around £3) benzoyl peroxide creams any more,  forcing sufferers to pay £10 for a small tube of acnecide and i came across some information about EU rules creating a shortage & making it hard to make BP cream.

Why is there a stock shortage of the cream?

Changes put in place by European Authorities last year mean that one of the main active ingredients of Quinoderm Creams has become difficult to import into the EU. Although these European changes were designed to prevent counterfeit medicines being bought into the EU, they have unfortunately also affected the supply of some more specialised ingredients that have legally been on the market for many years. This has regrettably affected the supply of Quinoderm Creams. Work has been underway for some time to develop new supply of this ingredient, however, it is currently unknown when this will be complete. We understand how important the Quinoderm Creams are to our customers and we are working very hard to bring the creams back to customers as soon as possible.
