Most of the time “razor bumps” are caused by the hair trying to grow at an angle under the skin rather than upward and out. Sometimes called an ingrown hair. These are painful and usually, get quite swollen. The “cure” for these are usually shaving in a manner that reduces the chance of this occurring. For some it means shaving only in one direction for one pass, for others, it might mean shaving with cold water.
