Alternatives for spironolacton ?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone tried treating cystic acne without any hormonal medicines (such as spironolacton)? Any creams your dr prescribed that really worked for nodule/cystic acne?
I know every one's skin is different. Well, my dr came to the conclusion that mine is hormonal (I've suffered for years, went on accutane, acne came back, now in my 30s).

I just don't feel very comfortable swallowing pills with hormones. Yes, I read that for some people spironolacton helps, but I'm still not happy about altering my hormones just to clear up my skin. I'm not planning on getting pregnant, but maybe in a year or two and I don't want to have any problems later on because of the medication. So I'm willing to treat my acne in a different way, not with hormones.
