Scar identification and treatment

Recommended Posts

Hi all,
I am here to seek for help with my scar type. I have done 2.5mm microneedling at home for 2 times and can see slight improvement. With the photo attached below, i actually took photo of my scar at angle lighting as always suggested by Dr David. Pls help me to identify my scar type and propose a treatment.
my current plan
1) infini with prp
2) subcision
3) tca cross

You have all scar types, Rolling, majority box cars and icepicks.

That is the right treatment above ^ . Add in TCA peels for texture at the end.

You will need a filler after you NOKOR subcision for you fat loss depressions / rolling scars.

Remember it will take a few of each treatment over a period of time, collagen is slow to heal.

BA is correct as always. You have marked atrophic scars. These scars will require volume replacement, do this at the end as if your other treatments stimulate collagen there will be less 'collagen loss' to deal with. Looking at your scars, you may need 8 sessions over 6-9 months, depending on your specialist. Remember, Infini is a good device, and usually outperforms lasers, but the settings are very very complex, so see someone who actually performs the procedure, and not delegates to someone else to work out the  settings. For everyone, there will be different settings as scars lie at different levels, and degree of fibrosis is different for everyone. Good specialist will always test spot at least a couple of dozen shots and reset the device based on feel. There is no such thing as a default setting for Infini.
