Hi , I've had ''acne'' for the past 5-7 years I've tried countless products, some of them helped, some were useless. It all started wth a red rash on the left side of my face close to my nose. When I went to my dermatologist he didn't know what it was... he just gave me an acne topical cream to try which was pretty much useless. At the time I was still going through puberty so I thought It was just acne. So I went and tried almost every acne products. From your basic drugstore products and natural products. I then found something called Rosacea which pretty much looked like what I had. So I tried a cream called Prosacea which did help with the bumps and redness but I think that's just because the active ingredient was Sulfur (also good for acne). From there , it's been 5-6 years and i still had acne, so I thought maybe I naturally have clear skin but the products are making it worse. I then went on the caveman regimen (water only). I DID THIS REGIMEN SEVERAL TIMES. The caveman regimen didn't make it worse but the bumpy red patches never went away. At this point a lot of family members really started to worry about my skin and kept saying that I need to go to a dermatologist and recommended tons of products, Last week my brother in law gave me a cream to try. He used it for his dermatitis ( the cream isn't recommended to use on acne-prone skin). I used it and it literally cleared both my cheeks in less than a week!!! Does that mean I have dermatitis? I have dandruff on my scalp but I just thought it was dandruff , no big deal , just get head & shoulders. Also my skin always had ''dead skin'' at least what I thought was dead skin. Even if I exfoliated I would still have some. Now that I think about it , it might be face dandruff??

Dr's dont tend to know a great deal about skin, some fo some dont.the only real way to know what condition you may have or dont have is to get someone who knows skin to give you a thorough check that a skin specialist would do.drs tend to cringe and go uh thst looks ghastly!then write a prescription not knowing realy what they are treating,so how do they know what cure they should give?

you need to have the condition checked to find out what it actualy is,exoerienced specialist would more likely know instantly, some might need further test and check for bacteria and type so they can target and kill it as some bacteria cant be killed woth some treatments but then again you might have lots of types going on who knows.

dandruff can be caused by lots of different things but if you get dandruff and if someone sees your scalp and its red or full of sores then its a bit more and not so simple.

folliculitus causes dandruff but its one of the stages of its progression.

basicly to cut a long story short rather than just trying loads of products you should be on your drs case or get reffered to someone who can actualy help you.

Yea ,I'll have to get an appointment but it's so dam expensive. Like 200$. That topical cream for dermatitis removed everything , all thats left is a bit of redness which I guess will fade with time.
