Hi guys. I'm a 16 year old boy and I've been struggling with pretty bad acne for about 5 years now. My mom suggested Accutane. I've been doing a lot of research about it but I'm still kind of on the edge. I'm pretty self conscious as it is and I'm really worried about the"initial breakout" that is pretty much bound to happen. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about this. Anything would help.
this is not what you want to hear and i can't stress enough that everyone is different so my story will be different than everyone else but i had similar acne to you when i started... and its been five months and my skin has only gotten worse plus my initial breakout has been the entire five months 
which seemed impossible because i didn't even start with acne THAT bad. i guess sometimes this happens to people with our "type" of acne.. I'm so upset and sad all the time about my skin though so based off my own experience i would not recommend going on accutane
