Hi guys, so, it has been hard. You know, we are in the New Year and I really want clear skin. I started my New Year crying because of my cystic acne. I am extremely exhausted because of how much time the acne.org regimen takes. Plus, my skin just seems to not get better at all. So, I have decided to try something else other than the acne.org regimen. With much research, I have decided to use these products:
- Cerave Cleanser
- Thayers Witch Hazel with Rose Petal
- Dead Sea Mud Mask
- Jojoba Oil
- Three cups of Green Tea a day

I have read that Witch Hazel and the Dead Sea Mud Mask help with acne, I am willing to give up the acne.org regimen to see if these products work  better for m and my skin. If not, I will seek a doctor. Please wish me the best of luck.

I think you have to find what works best for you. I cleanse my face and dry off with a paper towel, get dressed, apply benzo, make tea, then apply the moisturizer. My skin has done a 180 in one month! I have a couple stubborn spots but it is dramatically better. The more severe your acne the longer it will take for the skin to heal.

Cerave makes like 100 different cleansers...most of them contain SLS, so that turns me off of even trying them.

I've tried Thayers WH...not the one with the rose petal, because any product that contains "rose" breaks me out anyway (allergy). I just stuck with the original. I wanted to try a WH that didn't contain alcohol, but in the end, I actually preferred the Dickinson's. I have to dilute it. The problem with the Thayer's is that not only do they not add alcohol, but they don't distill it at all etiher. They claim this is a good thing because it leaves more tannins in the WH, but it also leaves impurities in it. (The purpose of distillation is to remove impurities and make the solution sterile, so no bacteria are contaminating the product.) It didn't work for me.

A lot of people swear by the Oil Cleansing Method. Seems a bit sketchy to me...it's not something you do every day, or every time you cleanse. Most people do it one to three times a week, like a treatment. Lots of people use Jojoba oil to do it (mixed with castor oil). If you are willing to try oils--maybe that is an option?

Be careful with green tea. In some cases it has caused breakouts (idk why, i personally love green tea). Good luck and be careful! Apply a bit of those supplements firstly and see if it gets worse or better before going all in.
