Tips for you guys to fall asleep faster: the 4-7-8 method or square breathing (4s inhale - 4s hold [to absorb more oxygen] - 4s exhale - [to release more CO2] - 4s hold - repeat 4 times only). This has nothing to do with Acne, since I feel more refresh after doing, even after 15 minutes nap, I recommend it to you.

3rd week. Nothing changes much. All post-fap symptoms have gone after the 12th day (except Acne). 
Zinc & juice, & vegetables are good for health. I still maintain them. 

Remember to keep on journaling. To measure is to improve.

3rd week so far. 

Nothing special except some small white head pimples pop up (probably due to foods - why I know it? Because I always see big, red pimples after fapping). Get one day break from taking Zinc, the cumulative effect of low dose Magnesium in the Zinc pill makes me so sleepy. 

Have anyone here noticed overeat (eat too much in a meal), can cause acne too? I read somewhere it said that overeating causes digestive problem, thus causes acne. 

Keep going with Zinc, leafy vegetable, carrot (vit A), & cool water. In fact, I still love the idea of cool water. After applying toner (about 20-30 mins), I splash my face with water, just feeling soft, fresh & less heavy on face. 

Abstinence seems to do a good job to keep me clear. Don't know the next relapse is when (yeah it is hard to fight with the insidious self in your head). Just enjoy the good days while waiting & looking for the cure. 

Stay strong. Eat clean. Early to bed early to rise. Not touching the guy. Will make you clear for a while.

Keyword of the week: PROLACTIN

After masturbating, prolactin level rises very high & it lowers the dopamine level significantly. I think we should dig this further. Because, after all, our main purpose is to become less fragile (acne pop up too much) in the post-fap session, not abstinence or becoming a nun (not having sex forever).

We must understand (very deeply) what happen during & after we masturbate. I mean not reading from articles on the web but in real books, research papers... so that we know what variables really affect us. 

You guys can search on the forum for some initial understanding. 

P.S. actually when rethinking, I should separate 2 problems we are facing (unfortunately):
1. Masturbate & have acne after that (the main case)
2. Not masturbate, or fap-free for a while but still have minor acne (this is not much as severe as the main case)

I hate this curse. sometimes, I think, after all, true happiness should be acne free.

Keep well man. Prolactin is about to rise (my assumption). Try to find ways to increase dopamine level (work out, feel good about yourself, watch something fun...).  My latest hypothesis. More dopamine = low prolactin. 

Going against nature is never easy, especially when you have to confront with your own irrational mind, your fap drive. I'd love the feeling before & during but just like you, feeling very very bad after it. You have gone a long way then suddenly you have to come back from where you start. Do it again and again and again. A vicious cycle. At least you are still luckier than me, acne pop up because of over-masturbation. Me, whenever I fap, no matter the frequency, everything goes bad bad & bad. I hate this curse but find no cure (at least til now). 

At the end of the week will mark my 1 month from abstinence. The past record is about 6 months. 

I have yet to see any significant effect from probiotics, just feel energetic & not groggy in the morning (due to magnesium in bio zinc). Plus it does not make me break out (I use low dose, 3 days/week - some forum member report that probiotic make their acne worse) & it helps better Zinc absorption & this is natural so I will keep it with me in the long run.

P.S. actually I don't think about this option yet: go to the endocrinologist to see what is wrong with our hormone system,, rather than digging & searching in the dark like this. don't intend to discourage you guys. but that may be our last way. (along with Accutane, the only that blocks sebum gland)

I came across with this mega thread. You guys may want to have a look at it. We are all on the same boat. Acne is disastrous but it is not worth to try Accutane due to it severe consequences. I see real people who have 1% side effects (IBS, depression, dry skin, joint pain....) - so I guess side effecs are not rare.

Hey guys, sorry for not being active lately


Right now my progress is very good

i ajusted my sleep schedule and about 5/7 days per week i sleep before midnight and wake at about 7-9. Before that, iwas going to sleep at 3-4 am which is obviously bad.

also at christmas party i ate a little bit of bad foods but no acne appeared. One reason is that ive started back to take cold showers. I put my face in the ice cold water a good minute and it does the job. Also i drink alot of water and keep my vegetable and fruits intake high everyday.

Regarding masturbation, ive effectively stopped doing it excessively and my acne is very diminished.

also started playing hockey outside everyday since its winter (fresh air+sweating=great skin)

My problem area was mostly forehead, but ive started back washing my hair more frequently, as i have long hair, all the pollution, dust and other nasty shit in the air will be in my hair for too long and it needs to be washed.

Also i change my pillow sheets EVERYDAY to avoid dirt to touch my face.


so for me avoiding anything that touches my skin and avoiding bacteria/dirt on my skin while maintaining a very healthy lifestyle does the job. Also, i est oysters 2-3 times a week for zinc, so masturbation no longers has an effect on me.


i am convinced if you do everything i mentionned you will start to get clear. ESPECIALLY, the cold showers, exercice and high amount of water.

Problem for me is not masturbating. I can stay without masturbation forever. Problem for me is wet dreams. I have a wet dream per week.
However, i`m on Accutane low dose for about 5 weeks and no pimples right now on my face. Just a lot of scars and dark pigmentation. I use a retinoid cream to remove these scars and spots in the night.
First month i was on 20 mg per day and now i`m on 30 mg. No side effects, just dry lips and a little of back pain. Doctor told me to stay on Accutane for about 3-4 months on 30 mg since my acne is low to moderate.
But like you my spots and acne aggravates after wet dreams  / masturbation occured. Doctor told me Accutane will resolve this since it will lower the glands and get all oil from them.

Nearly a month no-fap so far.
All I can tell is, as long as I do not go to "hard mode", I am almost clear. Sometimes I eat bad, a few pimples appear but small (compare the amount and size with hormonal acne after fapping, diet-related-acne are far smaller).

Congrats you on your positive progress @Guillermo97 I will adopt your regular pillow sheet changing habits. Playing hockey and sweating help produce dopamine which inhibits the prolactin level (which may be the main cause of our hormonal acne). I do not sweat much. But I will try to level up my workout. 

@Jikasa How is it going with your sugar-free diet? Have you seen any effect yet? 

Bio Zinc still does a good job in helping me with my healing process & keeps the acne at the bay. I plan to purchase some more. 
My next stop are (on the way) Cod liver oil (vitamin A + D3) and Milk Thistle extract (detox my liver due to I consume a significant amount of Vitamin A). I will update the result with you guys.

@shmilyM i amhappy for you thst you have some progress also, keep going. Regarding dopamine and prolactin, i have already studied the link between them and i do agree with you and it plays a role. Hence cutting out masturbation and doing sports and exercice helps acne. I would really recommend sweating as contrary to popular belief, it doesnt block pores is a natural anti-bacterial. Just a few hours left until the new year.

I am glad to know you guys. The journey haven't ended yet, still a long way to go but at least we are making progress (and hopefully will in 2017), & keep each other accountable. Thank you all for your support.

Also warning: long post bit it is informative and you will learn from my mistakes.



2017 will be the year we get clear guys, happy holidays everyone.


For me getting clear will get me back my old personnality as all these skin issues made me really depressed and sad.. But anyways, here are my goals for 2017:

-Try my best at nofap for wellbeing and skin benefits

-sleep earlier and wake earlier monday to friday.

-Hygiene: continue washing pillows, taking cold showers, wash my hair frequently.

-drink 3-4l of water everyday as sometimes i forget to hydrate alot. This has a very good effect on my face when i drink alot of water for a few days.

-continue to eat well (vegan) with high fruits/veggies intake and try  to limit junk food and sugar to week ends. Also continue taking my oysters for high zinc intake.

-I'm gonna also try to sweat more and i'll continue to play hockey and exercice. I might get back in bodybuilding (weight training) as i've been training for 2-3 years and it has always seemed to make my skin better.

-Big goal: Get rid of redness on middle of forehead (red marks??) right now its slowly going away.

Also for the past month i've had weird redness and itching on my eyelids (allergies) which is probably due to the fact that i just moved out and i dont take care and clean my appartement at all which is obviously bad for both skin and allergies.

All this dust and other nasty shit is getting into the air and i breath this all day..

Also last night i got very sick (dhiarrea,nausea) which is weird since i very rarely get sick and never had dhisrrea before and i had to sleep at. hospital.

My parents are 100% sure its because of the insalubrity in my appartement. So, its a wake up call for me to not only take care of myself but also take care of my home.

So guys, make sure you get fresh air into your house/appartement frequently and clean often. Breathing fresh and clean air is good for both skin and wellbeing.

dont be like me, dont wait till you get sick and get alleries.

So to finish,

Good luck to you guys, party and have fun tonight for new years eve but dont forget to get back on healthy lifestyle habits after that. Bad food and alcohol in moderation :) :P

I'm confident we will get clear this year with a naturaland healthy lifestyle.

Also one thing goal i forgot:

-Get rid of porn. Its barely impossible to do nofap if you still watch porn. I've been avoiding it for the past week and when i get rid of it completely nofap will ne easier.

Hey guys, guillermo glad to hear its going so well. I dont masturbate alot anymore only 3 times a week wich is a huge improvement. I am going to try a raw vegan diet, wich means i only eat things nature has given us like fruits and vegetables so no processed foods. I'm really excited to see if it will clear up my face.

@trashydude Hey my bro, glad you got the fapping frequency controlled as masturbating more than 2-3 times a week can be a disaster lol.

Also good luck on raw vegan diet, it is really really hard to do especially if you eat alot with other people. But if this diet doesnt clear you up, you might not be affected by food for your acne. So its worth the try so you can see how food affects u.


Also one tip i can give you is to prepsre your self by transitionning to raw foods gradually. Try to eat more and more raw foods each day and then after you can go 100% raw. For example tonight after plsying hockey i was really hungry and i ate some fruits instead of potato chips. Feels good :)

1 month + 1 week
What should I tell you now? As long as I don't "do it", I am almost safe. Safe means clear from acne, but still have some few small ones probably due to diets (I somehow agree with @Jikasa, sugar (from my mom's desserts, cakes, juices added sugar), can make some pimples pop up). I feel less stressed & have better performance than the period right after I relapse. This sounds positive, but I think it is not a sustainable practice because I go against basic human needs. After all while waiting for some cures, refraining from "doing it" is all I can do for myself. 

Zinc plays a crucial role in my journey. I can't find any better supplement than this. Reliable performance, reasonable price, no side effects.
Probiotics (Primal Defense), sadly, our relationship is not that good. I take only 2 pills per week. It causes some small pimples pop up. Luckily, because of too low dosage, I remain intact. So while it has substantial benefits to my gut. I contemplate including it in the next purchase or not.
Milk thistle has yet to arrive. I will take the same approach as I do with Probiotics. Low, manageable dose. 

Any progress or unusual happens? @Guillermo97 & @Jikasa 

P.S. Hey I heard that collagen (again, supplement) can help repair acne damages (scar, hyperpigmentation), AHA (topical) too. A beauty blogger recommends taking it for one month then stop. Every year do it two to three times.What do you guys think?

Haha. I think both work. Epsom salt exfoliates dead skin cells & give you some minerals. Try to add a little (just a little) to you morning glass of water. This helps alkalize your system as well. Collagen is famous for its benefits in the beauty industry. I don't know the side effects yet, but it's worth to add it to the routine to enhance skin healing process. Just don't overdose it. 

A quick update: my usual routine
1. morning facial cleanser + toner /
2. afternoon splash face with cold water to remove excess oil + in late afternoon splash again (I feel soft, light & my skin is more easier to exhale)
3. evening or nigh: facial cleanser + toner. If I feel heavy on face, I splash with cold water again
yesterday & the day before: I forgot to do step 2 :( boom, now a pimple appears. I am underestimate the oil. Just to remind you guys to keep your oil in check. Spashing face with water make me feel refreshing but a little bit inconvenient (I hate to use my hand touch my face because it is full of bacteria) I am thinking about purchasing a oil absorbing sheet but afraid that it will aggravate the oil production.

FOR FUCK SAKE IM SO FUCKING MAD RIGHT NOW!!!! My skin was having so much progress...

Then cold as shit weather came (-25 deg+), then guess what... My skin quality is shit and redness is back :( 

its fucking annoying i want to play hockey and get fresh air but i cant, the dry cold weather ruins my skin... I guess ill stay inside for a few days to let it calm down :)

@shmilyM youre so lucky to be able to use anything on your face, i cant use anything or i get clogged pores/redness. I dont even have oily skin, in fact i cant even see one deposit of oil on my face, its just dey as hell :(.


I think im gonna try aloe vera as its said to have proprieties for both dry/acne skin, is good for redness irritation, and doesnt clog pores.. I will go to health store as soon as possible


also started back nofap for all benefits. And wow at you guys @Jikasa @shmilyM so proud of your progress!!! Gives me discipline to stick to it :) Day 3 tommorow. How your skin going guys??

Guys,a little bit of positivity, im beggining an acupuncture treatment (ancient chinese medecine) in 12 hours.

Its really promising as it can cure most of the times skin problems (eczema,acne..). My parents tried it for allergies and apnea and it worked for them, so im really excited.
Basically i need to take at least 3-4 sessions to see a difference and healing.

Wish me luck :D
